One look at the ski and
its intentions are clear. The cut and the graphics scream to your senses that
this is a freeride ski, built for jumping and a bit of backcountry. It is enough
to turn a more traditional skier away instantly, but there are more to these
than meet the eye.

Ski-Review's Verdict:
If you are used to carving skis, the Rossignol Scratch FS will feel very strange at first. Park skis get a lot of negative reputation for this but in the bigger picture its a fairly safe assumption considering what these are being used for.
These skis are light, super light, and Rossignol touts them as being so. This means they are very easy to manourve out and about on the mountain. All types of turns are effortless, bump skiing will wake you up with a jolt and when you are used to them, they become a whole lot of fun. Not the best carvers on the piste, but nobody expects them to be.
The Scratch FS really do excel in the park and pipe, almost reacting to your mind before your body does, and landings are a pleasant affair being very forgiving. Being twin tips you can land, or even ski turns backwards quite well. In the backcountry their weight means piste lovers will think about converting due to the effortless ride thanks in part to a nice thick waist.
One other feature which is good in theory, is that these skis have a dual center point for binding mounting. Meaning you can adjust them easily when switching between the air and the ground. In reailty this did not make a noticeable difference, but other may find the results worth the investment.
Conclusion?
A ski which does exactly what it says on the box, and with gusto. A perfect ski for those days when you only make it out in the afternoon (for shame).

Sadly I was not able to get the fs but had to contend with the junior ones :( hate beeing small! Anyways, heard they have the same feel and if so, these are also awesome. Seriously, best pair of skiis I have owned | trouble makers

I took a pair of the 2006's out yesterday as Rossignol had brought their demo day to Courchevel. Oddly while people have been praising their lightness I found them very heavy. I was however impressed with them. I was skiing on a day when it hadn't snowed for a month and the runs were all hard pack and ice, but I had complete confidence in these skis to hold and edge and I could just beast it down the piste, throwing down huge sweeping carves. Due to their weight I had to ski them quite aggressively to get them to do what I wanted, so if you are small and weak they probably aren't for you. Unfortunately I didn't get to take them to the park, but I found them to have nice pop of lumps and bumps on piste. All in all a good ski but I won't be buying a pair. | Rock

im an ex racer and not a park skier. I took these all over the mountain at steamboat for two days that throught they rocked. They are quick turners and stable at speeds. I would recommend as a fun all mountain ride. | AJ

Brilliant skis. Never thought they'd be quite so good out of the park but they are! Would recommend to anyone. Binding fixings will depend on what you do most of. Mine are fixed for park but still feel outstanding on piste and powder. | i have scratches

I have had these since they came out, they are the first long ski i have ever ridden on. I hit the park, glads, powder, and hit speeds, they do it all, and i am beginning to think i am being spoiled. I own a pair of Sprayer FS's and have ridden the Scratch fs's. Basically feel the same to me. I have them mounted about 3cm forward from the center point which makes skiing switch very easy. One thing I noticed, this may only be a Aprayer thing, but I went to Aspen with them and skiied hardcore for about 5 days juston the slopes, no park. When I brought them home they seemed to have become very soft and flexible, anyone else notice this? | Flex

haha i have those ski's now and i want to get the newer version.. i like them alot but they arent very flexable, still. they are pretty beat up but they were ridden HARD. | Sick Sticks

I ride quite a bit and these skis are great for everything. Super light and durable. Spinning a 1080 is easier than every because they are so light. Highly recommend.CMR |
