With the IZOR 9:7, Atomic has re-invented the 9:18/C9. This is not a warmed over or new & improved version. The Atomic Izor series is the next generation and they are truly NEW. 
Sure, the 9:18 is the most successful ski ever. More people ski on it (or its younger cousin the C9) than any ski ever produced. This new IZOR is half carver and half freeride (if I may use a now somewhat archaic term). No, really! This is new ski for today's market that want skis that are not turn or terrain specific. First impressions are "light" and "EZ". As we pushed the Izor 9:7s harder, they performed better than some new models priced hundreds higher. The 16 meter radius (in a 168cm) produced some quick turns with very easy transitions into varied arcs at all but Racing speeds. You know you're having fun when Ski Patrol suggests you "back off the throttle a little" and while that often happens testing Race boards; it is rare indeed on a ski that's this EZ to handle. This is another winner from Atomic, and while they continue to ride the wave of success in Ski Racing, they haven't forgotten their "bread & butter" retail categories. According to Atomic, the Izor is geared toward the intermediate who likes to carve, (talk about your huge market segment) The Atomic Izor is comprised of nano-enhanced materials which can be up to 50 times stronger and lighter than steel. Nanotechnology explained? The same ski construction throughout each model. By varying the molecular mix, the flex and torsion of each ski is regulated for different performance characteristics. The ski industry sometimes calls a ski new when in fact, it is merely a new graphic or modified lifter. If you want NEW and don't want to work hard so you can carve and cruise all day; the Atomic IZOR may just be your new toys.

I got the first pair of Izors I could find last spring and skied them for a week. They are awesome. I am an advanced, but not expert skier. These boards made the bumps seem easy and got me my best time ever at Nastar. Do not buy any other ski until you have tried the Izor 9:7s | Izor, LT or SX?

What would you be able to do on the Izor 9:7 that you would not be able to on the SX:11 (or on the LT:11) and vica versa? Ski all day? Go over bumps? Ski fast? | sick

tried these in utah over new year's. Snow was tough, the ski wasn't. Loved it. Great in pow, crud and on groomers. | Don't search any further

I've tried these for 4 days in Austria, and really.... never had so much fun with a ski.
Extreme easy to handle and very very fast. Even on ice lots of grip! | I am in awe over the Izor!

Carving on groomed runs has never been more fun while staying in control for an upper-intermmediate skier.
They do better than what I can do in powder! :-)

Skied the Izors hard for 5 days - blew the edges out where the welds broke on the sides of the tip. Ski shop didn't do anything. Waiting to see if Atomic comes to the table and fixes them. | Demo'd 3 days - very nice

I rented these for three days, and I was blown away.
So were my two buddies, one of whom bought new skis *during* this trip after trying these out, although he didn't buy this model.
I can't decide what I like better: A) carving turns in any terrain almost without thinking, or B) skiing so easy I can go from early morning until they kicked us off at night. ;-) | Good all rounder: don't expect speed

Spent a week on my new 9:7s in Meribel. Far, far slower that Atomic SX, but stable on piste. Skis came into own after a dump, where they performed admirably, enabling easy long and short radius turns and wide smiles. Good value for money, especially if you get to see powder regularly, but also want some piste time. Atomic UK have also provided great service. | Blown out tips - Atomic came through

Atomic sent in another set of skis after both tips were blown out - the ski shop said Atomic had never seen this happen before. Glad to have the new skis - hope this was a one-off! | Great Great Great!

Had them on our local mountains and on the peak of Whistler and Blackcombe. Wonderful on all terrain. Edges held turns in ice like there were cut diamonds. On the powder, felt like I was flying. Demo'd a couple of pairs and I chose to buy these ones. | Great Ski

i had a similar thing happen, the ski shop guys said it was a manufacturing defect and sent it back to atomic. Im still waiting for their response | Blown out frame

I tried them for the first time this weekend at Sugarbush on super icy conditions and they cut the ice like they were melting butter!! I am a 6'0 209 advanced intermediate and was initially worried about how the ski would hold up for someome my size but they performed like champs!!
They are a lot of fun to ski and a great ski for an intermediate who is looking to improve. | This ski is okay but not best for powder

I ski all my life in all parts of the world and I have used many, many ski's over the years. I like this ski for the moguls and for steep terrain. They edge well and maintain good stability in and out of turns on flat terrain and excessive steep slopes. You call double black diamonds? Very good on this type of terrain. I was helo skiing in the Alps and above normal altitude in very deep powder they lacked the floatiness of my Rossignol ski's I pay less money for. The Izor just wanted to carve through the powder and took getting used to but very ski-able.
Over all I think a very nice ski for everday use on the mountain but really not a true advanced ski for an advanced skiier. Izor is very, very good for strong beginner and intermediate to get the most use out of. | Just bought them.

Just wanted to say that I bought one my pair of IZOR's and cannot wait to try them tomorrow. The price was very reasonable. |
