The first Scott ski I have ever skied, the Aztec’s were was a pleasure. You get the feeling a lot went into the Scott Aztec at all levels.

Scott Aztec Pro 2006

Model: Aztec Pro
Size(cm) / Radius(m): 165/? 175/? 185/?
Length tested: 175

Manufacturer's Description:

"If you’re looking for a ski that completely rips up groomed terrain and all snow conditions, you’re after the Aztec Pro. The Aztec Pro features sandwich sidewall construction with a cap laminate, found in all Freeride line skis, a similar sidecut to the Santiago Mission and houses two sheets of Titanal, the strongest aluminum alloy in the world. Look for the Aztec Pro in the following sizes; 165cm/76mm underfoot, 175cm/78mm underfoot and 185cm/80mm underfoot."

Ski-Review's verdict:

Two of my friends ski the Scott Aztec from previous seasons and they were forever singing their praise.

The Aztec’s Scott sent us were the new look 2005/2006 -- quite a plain looking ski, very understated, but I am sure many will like that.  The Aztec also seems a little wider than what many of its competitors are offering.

We had a very good session on these skis - all over the mountain just after Dan and Ray and I had thrown ourselves down the Speed Skiing course – the Flying K.  The sun was out and as the snow softened up, we skied plenty of terrain of the marked runs – steeps & well-established (hard) moguls.

I found the Scott Aztec to be an awesome, well balanced ski with plenty of grip anywhere you wanted it.  Stable enough at reasonable speed on the flatter stuff - plenty of fun on and off the piste.  Quite easy to manoeuvre too – I was happily bashing through slush on the lower levels with out feeling it for the aprčs ski.

Something for the kids too - the tails are a little turned up, so skiing switch is not totally out of the question.

The consensus from the public who tried these the next day at our Pure Demo Day were not dissimilar.  Most came back asking the price and someone even asked could I ski on them for a little more.  I offered him some sun cream for his gums -- he was smiling far too much!

Nice work Scott.

I had a very good week with those skis in Meribel last winter in march; thoses skis worked everywhere in all snow conditions ; I was stoked by the performance and comfort in all conditions.
AZTEC is the right answer to us.

Used them in Obergurgl in Austria they were excellent off piste in mixed conditions and very good at speed. Where they do fall down is on short radius carving. For an on piste ski I prefer my other skis Saloman Street Racer 10's. There is no such thing as a ski that is great at everything but is you want an all mountain ski that's adequate on piste then they are good skis. For piste skiers stick to carvers

After sking the Scott Mission on a big powder day, skied the Aztec on crud, bumps and hard pack. Excellent ski. Not as good as the Mission on powder, but performs excellent in crud and hardpack. Great, soft turner. Wants to stay on edge on flats.

Unfortunately, Scott sold so many, I am still looking for 165's to buy.

Skied these in variable conditions off-piste in Verbier, as well as the Karma. These are effortless, a great fun ski. The Karma is heavier and needed more work but are so solid underfoot...

Brilliant ski...I bought a pair in Verbier last year. Had not been able to get them anywhere in the UK. Can't recommend them enough.
