Did you have a chance to try the 165cm version?

The 165cm is more stable at "Mach Schnell" but its still a stellar carver. The fun here was the shorter skis (158) and their uncanny ability to do so well even with a beefier pilot. (200 lbs) I would probably buy the 165 for a "Ski Everything Groomed" ski, but if you are lucky enough to own different skis for different tasks, the 158 is more of a toy to take out when other skis are skidding and skiers are complaining about "Loud Powder"  
For QUICK (sudden) turns on hard pack snow and ice, try leaving your poles in the locker and getting your hip and hand CLOSE to the snow. Tip 'em WAY up on edge; show your bases to all the others around you; and see if you're not guilty of an almost evil GRIN.

How would you compare with 2005 9s model. In appearance they seem very close, other than the new silver/green colors. How do women recreational/carver skiers like this particular model.

I suppose best ski length depends on each person's height? I suppose 150 must be similar for a woman, to a 165 for a man?? Are you aware what other women are saying about this particular model and how it compares with other brand names?

I just bought a set of 165 TIs which were used 6 times from a friend. He sidecut them to 1-2 (88degrees) and I can't even sharpen them anymore. I'm into the 'glass with the file. As I'll have to replace them is the 9S better for edges?

2 degrees side bevel is probably right for that ski--It is right for my Rossi PP 9s skis. There is a tool that trims back the glass on the side so you can file the edges. Check that out at the shop and don't toss those away. They probably have many good years in them.

I purchased a pair in a 158 length mid-season and I wish I would have done it sooner. I ski in the east where we have a lot of hard pack and they are awesome. You just put these babies on their edge and they will take what ever you give them. Everytime I get on them I am grinning from ear to ear.

I demoed the vs oversize before buying my pair. Let me tell you these skis really crank some nice turns at high speeds. I bought the 158's and they are the ideal size for me. Best ski I have skied on in a long time. Too bad they don't make this model any more. First day on the them I had the biggest smile on my face. It was priceless.

The local retailer let me take a pair of these out for a demo after being disappointed with a lower end carving ski. The 165 cm TI's had so much grip and power at the end of a turn that it would literally launch me into the next turn. The rear activator seams to help keep your weight forward and in control. I've tried other skis and nothing comes close to the fun I have with the TI's.

The Rossignol 9S Ti oversize in 165 is perfect for East Coast conditions on Maountains big and small. I am a parapalegic and ski a Freedom Factory Mogul Master II with these skies and they are the best I have ever encountered. At 6'5" and 300 lbs I had to have a custom sled made but the 9S take it all in stride and carve turns like they were attached to rails regardless of the conditions. After trying many other manufactures and several models of skis I have can recommend the 9S without reservation as the best I have EVER SKIED!
