Ski-Review's verdict:

I must admit it -- I usually dislike skiing on skis aimed at the recreational level, but I certainly liked these.

For a ski aimed at the £200 package (that’s including bindings…) price point they perform very well on piste, feeling stable and accurate at slow to medium speeds.  Off piste, the Roadster was nothing to write home about as you would expect, but nonetheless they held their own.

The dimension of the Roadster XP (tip 110mm, waist 68mm, tail 95mm)  remain largely unchanged from last seasons model and suggest unremarkably, that Scott intend them to be primarily used on the beaten track but, intended or not, Scott have produced a comfortable all-rounder at a remarkable price.

Digging a bit deeper on the price it seems Scott are using the Roadster to gain market share at this price point (intended to win all the sub €250 Euro  categories in the European ski tests) and have got (I believe) Fischer to manufacture it for them.

Nothing wrong with that, but do not be surprised if the price climbs a little for next season (i.e. buy it while you can).

To summarise a great all rounder for the price.  If you want to a ski for powder or high speed piste cruising buy something else.  If you want a cheap and cheerful backup ski for the whole family and a range of ability levels, you cannot go wrong the Scott Roadster XP.
