The Omecarve 10 is clearly an attempt to bridge the gap between the 'recreational' versions of Dynastar's carvers, and the now legendary Omeglass. Some may see the Omecarve line as a direct replacement for the Speed 63 and variants, but one run on the Omecarve tells a different story.

Model: Dynastar Omecarve 10 Size(cm) / Radius(m): 152/10 158/11 165/12 172/13 Sidecut: 115-65-104
Manufacturer's Description:
"For technical, performance-carving skiiers who lover to link prefect carved turns."
Ski-Review's Verdict:
A generous sidecut gives this ski the ability to transform mediocre skiiers into blue run demons. A very forgiving ski, the Omecarve 10 allows you to make tight, short radius turns with ease, requiring very little effort and weight distribution. Push the ski however, and you are instantly rewarded with a responsive ride which accelerates the skiier out of each turn with tremendous gusto, while still remaining controllable. One of the best features of this ski is that it will suit any mood or energy level, so if the previous nights apres ski is still affecting you then this ski will accomodate you without requiring razor sharp concentration.
Point the skis downhill and you are treated to a confidence inspiring ride, especially with the slightly longer length 172, the model tested here. Small bumps and irregularities in the piste are gobbled up allowing you to make long, trail wide arcs from the top of the lift to the green motorway end zones.
Again, choosing the longer model means a trip off the beaten track is by no means a chore, even with the 63mm wide waist, powder is skiiable, even if your legs will not last all day. However, the fun provided on piste more than makes up for this and the 'off piste' cliche amongst the mountains hardcore is soon forgotten.
Visually the Omecarve takes the best from last years Omeglass and Speed 63 lines, with the Omeglass' red and blue lines and metal protected tip.
Conclusion?
The Omecarve 10 is a truly awesome piste ski, which holds its own all over the mountain. This is an ideal choice for those who only wish to own one pair of skis. If you do not touch off piste, then you may consider the 165 length, for that extra bite and maneuverability on the groom.

Length skied,172cm. This ski LOVES to turn but is just as comfortable ripping the whole mountain. Light feeling but very secure under foot, the 10 lets you pick your turn shapes even when other skis are skidding sideways. Linking turns is second nature to this ski. Confidence inspiring and a ski that will stand up to even the most critical evaluation. ***** | just bought a set Written by Ski Review Guest on 2005-02-24 00:46:46

Truth in advertising lives! I ski at a Midwest hill on man-made "glacial ice" and these skis really perform. Turning is a pleasure yet they seem to enjoy as much speed as I care to give them. Hopefully I'll make it to CO before season's end and see how they do on real snow and bumps. Morgan's comments are on the mark and if you're considering this ski - get it! | been skiing 25 years Written by Ski Review Guest on 2005-03-02 17:41:36
Skied the 172 length all day yesterday and really enjoyed them. They love to go from one turn to the next. They will give you technical confidence if smooth carving is your thing. Just spent a week on Volkl Supersport 5 stars and liked the Omecarve 10's much better. I felt as if the Volkl's were kind of "one trick ponies". The 10's were nice in a number of difference radius turns and kept up with me at higher speeds. Great all mountain advanced ski. However, I really want to try the Dynastar Ski Cross 10 before any final decision is made for purchase. | Apache X vs. Speedmachine 12 vs. Atomic Written by buckeye81 on 2005-03-24 22:36:12
Wow! Lot's of local great advice but really confused as to which of the above would be best for me. I demoed the Apache Recon's and they ran great at Vail but I think more ski than I need. I'm an exclusively Rockies blue-run type skier, like speed sometimes but mostly love carving S & GS turns on groomed runs. Used to hate powder with my old Dynastar Max2's but the Recon's solved that problem, especially with 13cm shorter length. Looking for some good advice from you guys. | Choices Written by buckeye81 on 2005-03-24 22:37:58

Been skiing eastern Canada and U.S for 33 years. I didn't know what I was looking for so Neil at Mont Habitant qc gave me 5 different pair to try & the best of the best were the Ome Carve 10 length 172. These babies can take everything you throw at them. If you are an aggressive skier but don't want a racer these Dynastars are for you. Can't stop smiling. Thanks Dynastar and Thank you Neil. | Great Fun Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-02-12 16:09:06
Skking the Canadaina Rockies for 35 years as a 50 year old I was finding I was strugling with my 185cm Volkl P4's. Long gone were the days of being capable of cranking 203's through the bumps. Even considered a move to snowboard but my local shop sold me these. Fiest day out I think i re-discovered how much fun skiing is. These boards turn great with minimal effort, very smooth and transition nicely from turn to turn with lots of forgiveness. Not great on a fast straight run like longer boards as the tips seem to wiggle a bit but I found as long on one edge doing a it of a long gs carve they're stable as can be. Highly receommended, I went with the 165 cm, dropping another 20 cm from my previous ski. | Can't buy new! Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-12-07 10:38:18
I have had the Omecarve 10 since they were available and I just got back from the ski shop w/o a new set of boards! I love these skis and I have skied midwest ice to NE powder and Utah heaven made snow of these and damn, I smile just thinking about getting back on them soon. I just purchased the Omecarve 10 (152's) after skiing on Salomon MXL 160's; what a wake up call. I found them to be very stable, carve with complete confidence, and best of all smooth beyond belief. if you can find them, buy them. You will not be disappointed. | awesome ski Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-03-10 03:28:47
