The Nordica Dobermann SL R is a ski that grips the slope like none other! I had my skiing ripped to pieces and handed back to me in tatters. I’ve skied some nice fast race carvers before but these really do take the biscuit.<

Model: Nordica Dobermann SL R
Size(cm) / Radius(m): 155/? 165/?
Sidecut: 114-64-100

Manufacturer's Description:

"Pending"

Ski-Review’s verdict:

I have never before been in a position before where no matter what I did, I couldn’t slow down. With the SL R I was still turning but picking up speed however much I turned across/up the hill.  Just one thing, for all that is holy -- do not take these in soft slush or the half pipe -- that run will haunt me for the rest of my life *shiver*.

That said, the Nordica Dobermann SL R is a fun ski, but you need to have powerful bendy legs and extremely accurate skiing. These skis have reassured me that I’m too heavy and far too unfit to ski at high level. If you are looking for a full on playful ski for slalom racing this is a good choice. The ski we tested here was the R&D test ski I can only hope for slightly selfish reasons they make it slightly stiffer for the minority who are the larger skier.

What a powerful ski. Seriously, these are stiff. You better be ready to work when your riding these things. But with that extra work, expect to fly.
