Tried these a few weeks ago. If you are an aggressive skier looking for a buzz and fast riding then these are for you. You need to put effort in to get the best out of them. They are a beast, give em an inch and they'll have you, keep them tamed and they will leave you exhilarated and breathless. If you are looking for ski's to just cruise the piste then I would go for one of the lesser tuned models such as the SX B5. |

Surely the SX B5 is the more tuned model being top of the list of Supercross skis?! |
Reveiw of the Atomic SX 12 Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-02-01 03:07:37
Brisol Mountain in NY state has a demo centre, you can try any ski made. I am looking for a new set of skis and just found it frustrating listening to salespeople telling me different things about the same ski. So I figured the best way to find out what ski was best for me, was to take the drive to Bristol Mountain. The second ski I tried was the Atomic SX 12. The Best way to discribe it was Exhilarating! It was like driving a porche! Quick response and total control, even skiing through powder than ice conditions. It was the most fun I had skiing in a long time. My 15 year old son was also tring different skis, without any influence from me, his pick was the Atomic SX 12's, for the same reason. You ski faster, with more control than ever before. I enjoy taking short fast turns, these skis rose to the occasion. I am now buying 2 pairs.

Bought a pair at the end of the season in Austria last year. Huge fun to ski on. Very stable at speed; in fact the faster you go the better they ski. Edge to edge grip unfailing. Need driving. You get out what you put in. I love 'em! |

SX11 -03 -05 and SX12 -07 Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-11-21 11:32:03
Tried 176cm model. Even better than its "parents" @170cm. The only "bad" things in those were these: - A must. You have to buy them too. They are more solid than previous models -"SL 12" was maybe more fun at slower speeds

These are the best skis I have owned - without a doubt. |
Great ski! Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-30 15:50:26
I broke my previous pair of atomics (SX-11) in half. Replaced them with the SX-12. These babies are wicked! only con is the carrying them around since they are on the heavy side. But this more than compensated by the directness of response in turning and speed achievable! |
skis to race Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-02-18 04:01:48
The bottom line is: these are race skis. They are demanding, they are not forgiving. They can do powder, mogul or quick turns but my impression is: they don't like doing it. They really start to perform when you speed up on hard surface, then they are impeccable. But you have to be aggressive and to be in control. If you like that or you are looking for skis to race (giant slalom is probably the most appropriate) then its your ski! |

I rented a pair of these as the skis I usually use are a friend's and haven't been sharpened in years. I should tell you I've only skied about 10 times but this didn't stop me from hitting the double-black diamond slopes. Absolutely incredible. Yes they are a little heavy but they provide great stability and extraordinary grip on the well icy slopes. Definitely worth a try! |
Sx 12 or Dynastar 67? Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-03-14 14:44:04
I couldn't decide and have both on order. I want to return one of them, still new in the package. Which is better for the occasional bear race, and all mountain skiing for those non-powder days? (flexible shovel but great torsional stiffness?) I have the Atomic ST11, and the Dynastar 64 and love them both.... |
