On the back of their staggeringly successful 03/04 series, K2 put the clutch of Ski-Of-The-year awards in the cabinet and went back to the lab starting from scratch to produce their new line. Top of the list are the high performace Apache series, the recreational Omni series, the familar T:Nine series now featuring 6 womens specific models, and a packed freestyle series with no less than 4 twin tipped models.
Apache 2004/2005
The brand new Apache series is billed being the ultimate all mountain ski for all snow conditions. A common claim amongst the leading brands, so will the K2's live up to the claim?
An ultra wide and rounded tip increases the flexed running surface by a full 7 cm across the range offering easier turn initiation, powder flotation and and increased edge grip.
The Apache encases a load and vibration absorbing technology which K2 call MOD Technology. This system has been tweaked for the Apache line offering further dampening effects towards the front of the ski, where most vibration typically occurs.
