Manufacturer's Description of the Elan M777:

"The M777 is a perfect powder ski with vertical sidewalls and serious edge grip, an indispensable prerequisite when the couloir you hiked into turns out to have less powder and more frozen sun baked snow than you bargained for. This ski boasts plenty of width, allowing you to float effortlessly over all types of terrain."

softer than some

A really fun ski. Its softness makes it forgiving in tight chutes and steeps but somewhat less powerful in the open runs and bowls than a stiffer ski. Edge to edge response and hardpack performance is typical for its width.

not for packed snow

Using it for second season. Excellent in all powder and soft snow conditions, even at groomed snow but very demanding when I hit some "sun-baked snow".

Good all-round

Used it a few times now. Very pleased with the handling, it has the special elan rebound. It needs a lot of effort but gives back more joy.
In hip deep pow I wanted I had a wider ski, but on the slopes and in knee deep pow a very good ski.
