"A truly lethal tool designed for the park and anywhere else you want to venture. This ski is built with a stiffer Triaxial braided wood core thus giving it strength to withstand the toughest of landings and the confidence and stability to rip any terrain. Equally at home in the park as it is in crud or the steeps, the PE is a menace to society and your mind that will lead you on a man hunt to discover which way is up on its op-art topsheet."

Park Only Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-09-07 09:04:18
Look if all you want to do is rails, jumps and play in the park they are pimping! But if you want to seriously ski all the mountain these skis suck they are not good everywhere no matter how much K2 try to tell you they are. They are a park ski only they suck on the rest of the mountain the K2 Public Enemy is horrible in the deep pow pow! |
Not true Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-09-15 11:35:30
The above person must be a crappy skier! Love mine in the pow! |
I 2nd not true Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-09-15 11:35:58
With 60 plus days on the mountain last year (mostly Vail) these skis are awesome. I took them in the park, out of bounds, on the groomers...who ever wrote "park only" is a gaper. If you're looking for one ski that can do a little of everything this is it. It's not "the best" powder ski...it not "the best" park ski, but for a "do everything" ski, this can be it. |
New Skis Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-10-04 10:07:50
Looking for a new pair of skis for the coming season. I weigh 130 lb and am about 5'7 height. I was wondering if the K2 Public Enemy would be a bit stiff for me to use all mountain and wether the Fujative would suit better. Any suggestions please post!!!! |
K2 PE's too stiff? Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-10-13 17:49:10
I think for your stature the Fujatives would suit you better, that's if you want a K2 ski. |
DEFINITELY GET PUBLIC ENEMYS Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-10-17 22:22:34
The Fujative is way too soft for pretty much anything unless you ski 100% park all day long and do nothing else. They make a buzzing sound at high speeds on the groomers. WAY SOFT SKI |

Length of Public Ememy Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-11-12 13:38:28
I am an advanced female skier 130 lbs and 5'6, I wanted an all mountains ski that could handle some whistler powder and as well as everything else. I was told that K2 public enemy would be a good ski for me, I have to choose between 159 and 169, do you think the 159 would be too short for me? Thanks! |
Length Suggestion Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-11-13 18:34:22
Being an advanced skier, it's simply a matter of choice; the shorter 159's will give you more mobility, and the 169's will be more stable (at high speeds) and in the pow. I'm 5' 11'' and 190, and I use 169's, and they let me rip into turns pretty damn quick. |
K2 vs. Armada Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-11-16 09:49:16
Can anyone compare the Armada T Halls with the Public Enemy? Looking at both and want to do a bit of everything but mostly backcountry kickers. |
PE's Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-11-20 10:01:06
The PE's are a good mix between park and all mountain. It has enough waist to handle some powder, it is stiff enough to hold an edge and be stable, and it can also function as a park ski. However, the Public Enemy is heavy. K2 Public Enemy gear review by Briann |
Public Enemy Written by xcjamie on 2006-11-20 10:03:48
A stiffer ski suited for all mountain and park. More stable ski than Fujative and better all around, but still rips in the park. Tip and tail rivets, not that expensive and awesome graphics. K2 Public Enemy gear review by “xcjamie” |
Not sure.. Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-11-20 10:05:36
I just bought PE's and I am looking forward to getting them... I'm a ski instructor so I wanted something good for everything. I am 6'0 175 and I got 179's.. I ski mostly park but do rip around everywhere else sometimes. I have been using 170's for the past 3 years so I bumped up the size a bit.. are 179's going to be too long?
|
Mounting Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-11-23 09:35:58
Hey I got 174 PE's and I ski about 50% park, 50% all mountain, where do you guys think I should mount them? I think I might mount them 2 back from center but I'm not sure, what do you guys think? |

Mounting (Please give your opinion) Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-11-28 10:26:36
Just got Public Enemy 169's and decided to mount them on a +3 which should be right in between a center mount and a regular mount...I did this because I do 50% park and 50% everything else...Does anybody else think this was a good idea?? The guy in the ski shop said +2 was a safer bet if I was unsure but I decided +3.. PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR OPINION!!!! |
Which Ski? Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-12-05 15:08:21

i'm looking for a set of ski's that i can learn to ride park on. im an advanced skier on piste, but am bored of it. both my brothers board, do park and off-piste, and i would much rather ski along with them and survive on the powder runs than suffer and drown in snow. are the PEs any good, or are they too advanced for my primitive park skills??? |
Awesome Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-12-13 12:52:46
I got these skis this summer and have skied with them twice. I am 5' 10'' and 200lbs and theses skis hold my weight and look awesome. My only problem is the top sheets chip a lot. Other than that the Public Enemy is an awesome ski. |

K2 Public enemies decent all around ski Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-12-23 06:02:44
These skis are a decent all around ski. I have 179s and they do pretty good in the park and the air. They are decent on the moguls and choppy stuff. They are a little work in the pow, but still fun. |
Go with either PE's or rossi scratch Bc Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-12-27 11:04:38

they're allright Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-01-02 08:38:58
i just skiied them for 9 days in val d'isere france, they were okay. good in the park, a little stiff and choppy on the groomers, but great on the mogels and backcountry. im trying to decide between k2 skiis, volkl, armada, and dynastar.. but im learning most towards volkl and dynastar because of the karma and the trouble line... any suggestions? |
I second they're alright Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-01-18 10:06:34
I skied on a pair of 164's (I am 140 lbs, 5'9") and I have to say that they absolutely rocked on the fresh 1.5 ft of new heavy snow and resulting mini-moguls everywhere. They seemed fantastic going down moguls. They were a little stiff and choppy on the groomers, wouldn't want to have these skies if that's all I was skiing. |
Uh? Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-01-31 12:28:36
I feel like the people who say this is the best twin tip made do not use twin tips for what they are made for. I have seen the Public Enemy mounted way back and they are as heavy as anvils (not good in the air). But yes, they chop it up and have bullet shell rivets, whoopdefreakindoo! |
Remounting Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-01-31 12:30:29
I just bought a pair of 159 PE's and accidentally had them mounted as standard, now I am going out of my head because the tail is going to kill me riding switch. Should I get them remounted at +3 for park and all mountain, or is the remounting going to hinder the skis strength on the 50 footers etc? |

Which Ski To Get? Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-02-12 14:35:57
I am an experienced skier, but have never actually got into the technical know-how of skis. In a few months I intend to do instructing, and basically I want a carving ski with twin tips. Out of all brands and skis, which would be the best ski to get? |
K2 Public Enemy Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-02-13 00:49:06
Go with the Volkl Karma. It has better on piste performance. Although the Public Enemy might be a better bang for your buck just because it is so much cheaper and still an awesome ski. Both are good all round skis. |
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-02-18 18:39:36
The Public Enemy is super fun. I have my bindings mounted at standard mount, and rip all over the mountain. Powder rules, park is fun, backside stuff rocks. These are so fun! My only beef is that the top-sheet is a piece of crap. Other than that, buy 'em and ride them everywhere. These are awesome all mountain twins. And they shoot mad rooster tails! |
Question Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-02-20 07:06:09
I am an advanced piste skier, but want a pair of twin tips. I want speed, lack of rattling, etc. Park is the least of my worries. Although I plan on attempting park more often, moguls, tree-skiing, and pow are my favorite (15% park, 85% piste). Any suggestions on the ideal twin tip for non-park (I know that's why they were intended but I think they're cool). Thanks. |
Public Enemy - Lots of Fun, but easily c Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-02-21 17:44:51

WAAAAAHHHHHH!!! Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-02-21 21:02:17
These are good skis but in the air they are HEAVY. Spinning is an effort and any air caught on a mogul is slightly harder to react to cause of the weight. As a general ski though they kick ass. if they got in a fight with any other ski they would win cause they're so ghetto...except they would get all chipped on the top so maybe not |

How bad do these chip, and which ski is Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-06-23 23:41:49
I'm an all-mountain skier, but i spend most of my time in the powder, crud, trees, chutes, cliffs, and if i have no choice other choice but to ski on groomed, I can tear it up. How bad do the PE's chip? I'm trying to decide between getting PE's, Head Monster I.M. 77's, Rossi Bandit B2s, and Salomon Foil. Any advice would be appreciated. |
They're GREAT. Better than Foils Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-07-17 22:42:45
Bought a pair earlier this year and skied 2 weeks March/April in Colorado. They were great. I was very impressed in all conditions - hard pack, ice, slush, fresh snow, steep, fast, slow, large radius, quick small radius, bumps, through the trees (filming my kids), skiing backwards (filming my kids). I couldn't fault the ease of turning, edge hold, predictability. Very easy, relaxing ski that just did whatever I wanted without any thought or effort. I didn't find anything that I and the skiis weren't comfortable doing. Only downsides were (1) the topsides got damaged really quickly, but you'll read this everywhere. A real shame. After just two weeks they look worse than any of my old skis that I've had for years. But it's only cosmetic (hopefully) and you wont notice when you're skiing. And (2) On the steep stuff, with boots clamped tightly together (my style), the upturned heels would occassionally interlock when initiating a turn - waking me up from my dream state. Other than this I couldn't fault them. No regrets. However, I must point out that I didn't try lots of skis before buying these. I read all the reviews and checked the deals in the resort. Therefore, although I found the skis were great, I couldn't comment on whether they are actually better or worse than anything else. Only exception was a pair of Salomon 1080 foils which I did try for a day but was very dissapointed with. Maybe because I'm carrying a few extra pounds, or maybe because the skis hadn't been freshly tuned they had no edge grip. By comparison the Public Enemies (PE's) seemed to hold on no matter how fast or hard. Amazing grip when I'm used to skiing on 208cm skis. In my opinion the PE's and Foil's are not comparable as the PE's were just so good and the 1080 Foils were so limp. A shame as I wanted to like the Foils. I've been a Salomon user for ages. I'm sure the 1080's must be good, but I don't know where they were better than the PE's. Bottom line: Maybe there is something better out there, but why take a chance when the PE seems so good and versatile ? |
sweeeeet Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-08-09 11:44:19
these bad boys are awesome. and they pretty much look cooler than most of the otehr twin tips out there on the mountain. they are so easy to handle. only bad thing is when stuid snowboarders loose control and run over ur skis and ruin the topsheet. but thats only cosmetic and doesnt effect ski performance. buy them!!!!!! |
these are gngster Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-08-18 00:00:14
these skis rock all conditions they are not awsome in deep powder but still ride great. they rip up crud and corn and can kill it in the park, if you are looking for and all around ski that isnt to expensive this is it |
Chips Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-08-21 11:51:45
These ski's are awsome, I bought the 159's which turned out to be too short in the end for the pow but they performed amazingly well in the park and on the piste ! The top sheet however is a mess, i had 3 weeks abroad this year, mainly in France, and about 6 days around Scotland and they are much worse condition than my salomons ski'd for 4 years ! This shouldnt be a a big problem though, They still look great ! And still ride well ! |

wicked skis Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-08-26 00:28:30
the p.enemy are really good they are quite stiff so they are not bad going fast and going over mogues are ok......but light so jumps and tricks are easy....had them for a year and they still work a treat and as they are last seasons skis they are cheap....you aint going to find much better. |
SOME SERIOUS INFO ABOUT THE PE'S Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-08-26 00:51:47
the public enemies are very good combination...i would recommend them to anyone who is wanting to do a few tricks, a bit of piest, a fair amount of off piest and wanting to go quickly without wobbling all over the place...... the pe's have a good stiff egde so carving is not bad, but as it is weighted around the middle it is good for high speeds...i am 5'11 and weigh around 74kg and i use 175 which is good as there long enough to get good speed and stability but able to turn quite easily, as they are twin tipped the back turns alot easier than normal carvers....i am quite a confident skier who likes alot of speed and the occational air...just because they are twin tipped doesnt mean u have to do tricks and that stuff. it makes it alot easier for slip sliding and just reversing backwards aswell. For the off piest they are ok....not as good as the really large think skis but they are better than any carvers i know. the PE's are not the lightest of skis so tricks arent as easy as some....but the stiffness pays off. I have been skiing for over 15 years and they are one of the best skis i have had for a long time...these are one of the best alrounders there are, and as the guy above says they are last seasons stock so they are quite cheap. So if your looking for a good alround cheap pair of skis these are the ones to buy. GET THEM WHILE THEY ARE STILL AROUND.....U WONT REGRET IT! |

Get the K2 Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-10-26 00:22:47
I dont know much about the Dynastars but i would defenitly have to sugest the PE i am from wisconsin so i ride park most of the time they are really good for park. I have also goten them into 2 feet of powder at Snowmass I only way 135 but damn did they float good and that was with the narower 05 model. I have never riden the newer models, the newer model is saposed to be even better than the old one. If they are anything like the 05 model they are ballin as hell If you get them i would highly sugest a center mount. I had mine mounted back at first and the swing weight is terrible, but they do ski the powder better. |
Heavy Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-10-26 00:27:53
idk about the new models but the 05s are pretty heavy. it mostly sucks and it is a little harder to spin but they are very smoth and stable in the air |

You should get the PE as the are the most stable, and can do everything you want them to do. I have set my binding to the rear, as I do not spend any time in the park and has made them ideal on all piste conditions... |

Im 5'10" and i ride the 159 (theyre a little small). I would go with the 164. You don't want too much ski to turn. The PE's are really nice. It took me a while to get used to them b/c for an east coast ski theyre really wide at the mid foot. After that they are great though. I can ride them anywhere on the moutain. |
chip Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-12-10 16:20:50
the skis are good on man made snow but the top layer chips like no other and the edges wear down really fast and need to be sharpered but overall is a good ski for just about everything |

K2PE Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-18 06:01:14
the first ones i got were the white/black/gold. the top sheet chipped a lot so i sent them back to K2. the gave me the red/black ones with the die cut puzzle piece top sheet...that was worse than the first ones. once they started chipping, one "puzzle piece" would start peeling up while the other stayed. they really started to look like crap and made it look like i didnt know how to ski. i can relate with the tail catching each other and both tips took a beating. i associate this with my style of skiing. boots together, you really have to widen your stance because the tips are wider than the waist. you will get alot of knocking around. other than that i liked them. the size i had (169) was a little short for me (6-2, 225#) but worked well on everything. i have to replace them since i snapped a tip off during a crash 4 weeks ago. |
PE Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-19 23:30:18
If you say the PE are heavy and hard to spin you suck...if i can 720 a pair of atomic SX11's (which make the PE's feel like feathers) then you should be fine with some super like PE's just use the Tyrola MoJo binding! super light |
Skimyfaceoff Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-21 14:27:44
Skied these at Breck two weeks ago in a 164 (I'm 5'9", 155) and they really blew my mind... Perfect for everything! With a fresh 8" I was having trouble with my 170 Volkl ACs cuz I do alot of tight treeskiing. They felt really light and floated well, even when I was straightlining the horseshoe bowl in some messy-ass chop. My only gripe is that the edges of the topsheet looked like hell, otherwise I had the most fun everywhere with these. They did everything very well & felt super light- awesome at moguls & pow alike and had great energy- felt like I wanted to catch air off every little bump. If you say these feel heavy, what the hell are you skiing? Goode's? Generally a very fun ski and great bang for the buck! Does everything you ever wanted a ski to do and some shit you never expected. |

Hey- Ive only skiied on these once and i'm more than due for a pair of skis, and i'm wondering if i should get these. I get out west to Vail/Park City for about 2-3 weeks a year, so def ski some pow and some of everything else when there is no powder. I'm 6'2, 190, Im an advanced skiier, don't hang out in the park much, but i just want a ski that i can use the mountain as my playground, even when there isnt pow do moguls and trees, hit kickers, basically i just want a fun ski that can handle everything. thanks everyone! |

K2 PE 06-07 Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-02-07 17:04:54
I have the 06 - 07 model PE's. 179's. I'm 6'2" 215-220lbs. I ski in new england crud and these skis are the shit. They handle the whole mountain very well and I when i do go into the park (rarely - cause i don't want to fuck up my edges on rails )they feel great. As far as deeper snow; - when I was in Vt. I got some good powder and they were great. Just got back from a trip to UTAh but I didn't want to hump them to the airport or on the plane. So i just rented a pair of 190 Rossi Bandits. Was I ever dissappointed that i didn't bring my PE's. Not nearly as much float as my PE's in the pow. But I didn't feel bad about fucking around in the park at least with rentals. LiSTEN AS FAR AS SIZING goes: Get longer skis. Giddy up on em' and show those bad boys whose boss. |
I have the 05 model Written by hermon on 2008-02-14 00:37:23
It served me well doing a season in Treble-con NZ, and in Fernie BC, both known as skiers mountains. They do anything. park, offpiste, powder, piste, moguls - anything really (maybe hard ice. and im talking about Olympics downhill ice. because they go great anything else.) I have to say that the 05' are 80mm waist, im 6 ft and skid the 169. |

PE Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-03-13 03:49:11
Truthfuly, the PE is an entry level park ski for the poser who simply likes to ski through the park. i do not recomend these skis to anyone. my opinion, either go with the armada pipe cleaners or the salomon spk's. you will not be disapointed. |
PE Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-03-20 13:29:49

Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-03-27 04:31:24
Sick in the pow! Really playful in the pow but that also means that the don't really cut through the crud. Just a bit too soft. Still a good ski for any amount of new snow though. |
To the 179 or shortere ?'s Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-04-09 18:16:20
I've been on the 179's for 4 years... the skis overall are rock solid, do I wish I had shorter ones... sometimes in a tight turning situation and sometimes in the park. But I ski fast and hard and the 179 was probably a good choice for me based on my ski style. I'm 6'0" ~185lbs. I'm an expert spend some time out of bounds and most of my time in the steeps and deeps. Love chutes and natural hits all over the mountain, and I love speed. Parks are fun but I get bored... These skis are awsome and you don't have to worry about them falling apart. |

Silencers VS PE Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-05-02 18:16:30
From what i have read on numerous websites about these two skis is that the silencers are for all-round skiing i.e. park, piest, trees, jumps, rails, pipes. And the Public enemies are maily only for park, rails, jumps and pipes. This is due to the silencers dimensions all being 5mm smaller than the PEs so it makes them more agile and easier to turn. So the verdict is, if you are going to be skiing all over the mountain including parks, then your best bet is the silencers. But if you are only going to be skiing park then the Public Enemy skis are your best choice.

RE: silencers vs pe Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-05-11 01:58:33
I think you got that round the wrong way mate. Public enemys tend to be the all mountain ski where silencers are more park specific. Silencers are also about half the price of pe |

A Handy Bit of Sizing Info Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-09-15 01:24:09
In case anybody out there didn't already know … just came back from local ski outlet in Boulder, CO, where after chatting up one of the sales guys I was told K2 measures their skis from where they make contact with the snow. I.e., with twin tips they measure from flat to flat, and not base to tip. All of which means the, say, the 169 measures in more like a 172 or so. Just an FYI … I'm looking at both the 169 and 174 (I currently ski 175 Salomon Screams from 2004), and am 5'10" and 165 lbs. |

F***ING AWESOME Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-10-27 14:15:35
I have been skiing with the public enemy for three years, and I absolutely LOVE this ski. It soaks up the jumps so well, and is ever-so forgiving. For all mountain (which I primarily ski) it is amazing. The ski is definately heavy (kinda a bitch to carry) but it is incredibly stable at high speeds, and is surprisingly responsive to quick turns. It is heaven in powder, and my only real complaint is that it scratches pretty easily, but other than that I could not be happier. I am a large skier at 6'3'' and 220 lbs. |
Too Short?? Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-11-01 12:39:00
I'm a relatively advanced skier. I love the pow and the trees...anything off-piste, but I'm still somewhat of a neophyte in the terrain park. I wanted something that I could continue skiing all mountain with while at the same time feel comfortable getting to know the park a little more. I'm 5'11" and about 160lbs. I just got some 159cm public enemy’s. Are these too short for me? |
To Above: Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-11-09 01:31:24
Well! Just found these K2 Public Enemies on craigslist and so far after all these reviews im convinced. and for the person above: I think those are a bit short. im 5' 4", (teenager, semi advanced) and am getting the 159's. |
the best skis Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-12-24 01:26:15
iv have used several pairs of twin tips inculding volkl, head, salomon and these are by far some of the best of them all, you wont find a better pair of all round skis. People that say they are no good for mountain riding are not good skiers. They handle excelant on piste and even better in the powder. They may be quite heavy but it only works to your advantage, it takes a few days to get used to the wieght but once you can handle them they really are some of the best skis you will ever use i have the 08/09's and the 07/08's they are both excellant |
