First Ski Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-03-07 03:29:28
I recieved my skis 2 hours before the local hill opened for a deep powder day. Slapped on the bindings and headed out. Awesome in the powder, grabbed on the windswept ice, and tore up the groomed runs. An excellent all over ski. |
K2 Apache XTR Written by trap01 on 2008-02-29 21:21:49
Being a new skier last year, age 55, 175 pounds, my expert friend recommended a pair of K2's on sale. After four lessons on Atomic 158's, I bought a pair of Apache XTR's at 172cm. Most of the 23 days were spent skidding turns down the intermediate runs. It was challenging and a little scary. This year, after fourteen days, and three lessons, I'm cutting some real nice turns and controlling speed. Had some tough time in powder but that was a skill limitation. But on some shallower crud, they ran great. My real time in on the groomers, and I'm very confident, turn very crisply, stop quickly. These are very stable at the moderate speeds I'm moving. On the cat tracks I move along with everyone else and find them great. I don't want to give them up. Another pair, Solomon X wing Fury's, are great in the softer new snow and very fast in acceleration. But the Apache's are my main gun. I take them everywhere. We ski the Pacific Northwest, Spokane and British Columbia. |

I'm trying to find out more about the XTR's, but all the websites I checked, I find nothing about the skiis. There is only information about all the Apache Skiis.
