Manufacturer's Description of the Armada ARW:

"Designed by X Games Gold medalist, Grete Eliassen, the ARW is a performance twin tip built specifically for women. Like the AR6, the ARW is completely revamped with wider overall dimensions and more sizing options, but it differs with the additional weight savings, due to a new wood core and sidewalls, as well as a softer flex profile fit for girls. Please don’t be fooled, this is no ordinary women’s ski as Grete designed it to perform at a high level everywhere from the park to all-mountain riding, and as an added bonus, the ARW comes with its own beefcake to stare at on the lift."

Yeah, Girl!

I've been skiing almost exclusively on Dynastars for about 15 years now. All my coworkers at the ski area I work at swear by Armadas. So I finally took out the ARW's a couple weeks ago for the first time. Oh my god! Floated over powder, cut amazingly well through crud and moguls, and popped off anything I wanted to jump off! Amazingly light and nimble, the only downside was a slight spaghetti noodle effect when worked for speed. Overall a truly magnificent ski EVERYWHERE!

not impressed...

i just tested out a pair of the ARW's this weekend and couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculously soft they were. i couldnt lay down a decent turn without the ski giving out on me. maybe they're good in park but certainly not anywhere else if you ski even remotely aggressively. if you are interested in them, test them first! maybe you'll dig em. sorry grete, still love you.

not for speed

I did not enjoy these at all, thought they were very heavy and hard to turn. I am a speedy skier and couldn't ski fast, these really held me back. When I did gain speed the skis were chattering all over the place.
