Model: Armada AR6 (2007)
Size(cm) / Radius(m): 161/? 166/? 171/? 176/? 181/?
Sidecut: 114-82-104 (161) / 115-83-105 (166) / 116-84-106 (171) / 117-85-107 (176) / 118-86-108 (181)

Manufacturer's Description of the Armada AR6:

"The AR5 has officially been laid to rest, and in its place we have introduced its protégé, the AR6. This series still holds true to the intent of the AR5; however, it has undergone an overhaul making it even better suited as a park and pipe ski and also improving its all-mountain performance. The major change in the AR6 is two fold. We have widened the dimensions of this particular model to provide skiers with increased stability. In addition, the variable slant sidewall technology used in the past has been replaced with a vertical sidewall. In doing so, excess sidewall material has been eliminated and the core widened, furthering weight savings, overall durability and increases edge durability. By incorporating the Armada designed AR1 core along with carbon fiber stringers in the tail, the AR6 is more stable, stronger, and lighter than ever before. All this, combined with the addition of the 166cm to the line, rounds out the largest, most high performance offering yet from the ski that started the Armada revolution. It is simply the one ski in the Armada line that our athletes cannot do with out."

Looking to buy but can't decide - HELP!
Written by stankes25 on 2006-10-03 09:29:41

I have been looking at the AR6's but also the Line Prophet 90's. I want the ski to perform well off jumps, rails, park, and pipe, but also to be able to handle the back county and just regular trails. Someone please give me some advice?

Written by Ski Review Guest on 2006-10-27 17:44:25

Definately go with the Karmas. Good underfoot for light pow, and beast in park and kick it all over the mountain.

Here is help

Armada all the way.
Prophet 90 = Wicked stiff and are back mountain..
good luck center mounting them.
Do not get line they have delaminating and edge issues.
Volkl is good

This is a great park/pipe ski but also great all over the mountain. This years is supposed to be lighter and at 82-86 underfoot works in pow. Not to mention the graphics are sick like always and Armada is a trusted brand.

The AR6 is new this year replacing the AR5. It improves the all mountain capability of the AR5 by being wider. It is also now better in the park because it's light and easy to throw around in the park. Feeling the flex in the shop, it seems like the perfect blend between park and all mountain.

Armada AR6 Vs. K2 Public Enemy

I'm an advanced skier that loves pretty much everything. From the park to backcountry to the moguls... and groomed trails. Which of these two skis is overall better?

Help I can do

Get the AR6, Volkl, you will find too heavy and stiff. The AR6 will be more fun in the back country and will kill the park.

what to do
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-03-07 17:25:25

dynastar trouble makers or armada ar6? which one is better for all mountain, with not a lot of powder?

Mounting for AR6?
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-03-07 22:26:52

I am an intermediate to expert skier. I spend about 30% of my time in the park, and the rest is primarily spent on piste. I just bought the AR6's along with look PX 12 ti bindings.

The guy at the store told me that Armada's can only be mounted in the factory set spot. I was wondering if this is so, and if not where should I mount them?

AR6 or Pipecleaners?
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-08-23 15:56:03

I would like to know which is better for all over the park and pipe. AR6 or the Pipecleaners??

AR6 rocks
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-09-14 10:32:59

The only advice I can give is that I have owned 2 model years of AR5, and I now have the AR6 in 181, it absolutley kills any twin tip I have ever skied, wide underfoot and I never thought I would say this about Armada, but they can carve like a gs ski, I chose this over the new Volkl Bridge and you wont be disappointed.

Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-09-25 23:47:17

Pipecleaners will be better in the Park/Pipe due to their flex pattern but the AR6 will be better all-mountain

AR6
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-12-12 05:00:18

Get the ar6 for sure
they are so sick
i just recently bought a pair
and they do not disapoint
first of all you can center, -2.5 or -5cm mount them which gives the skier the choice between what they really want to ride
also it's light got a wide underfoot and can kick it in pow and kill it in the park

Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-11 01:55:27

i bought ar 6 and i am having some definant laminate issues with them, after my first day with them multiple chunks of the top sheet were scraping off, anyone else had this problem?

The chips don't matter
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-12 07:31:25

It's true... Most all skis with sidewalls have this same "problem." My seths do it, enemys do it, hell, even snowboards do it. Unless you really care about the graphics, it doesnt matter. If you do, get salomons, they are capped and won't chip... But their graphics suck... and the whole foam thing... yeah, don't worry about the chips, wont effect riding at all.

Epoxy over them if you are worried

which one
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-29 05:52:12

everyone says the armadas get messed up and scrath real easily im thinkin bout getin the 1080 trusters or the foils both o8 which one?

trouble makers
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-02-17 02:01:40

This year, is needed new skis. I looked at the k2 public enemys and the salomon 1080 foils, then i saw the dynastar trouble makers. they look good and feel good. They are great for the entire mountain. Groomed, powder, and the park. If your looking for a great ski, buy the dynastar trouble makers. I'm glad I did!

what skis should I get?
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-03-23 00:04:53

I am a young kid who like to ski park. I hit both jumps and jibs. I need a soft ski that is soft enough for my size 5'2 95lb. I ski PA so not much powder. I am not all park though, so i want a ski that is atleast ok at holding a edge and stuff.

ar6
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-03-27 22:23:59

Dont bother getting the Salomons they are fairly useless, especially the foils. The ski ok but the foils will probably last you about a month. Foils a convenient name for them considering that is basically what they are made out of! If you have ure mind set on 1080s then the Thrusters are fairly decent and the graphics arent too bad either.
Obviously the Ar6 will perform in the park, but anyone know what its like in the back country????
Tignes for life!

AR6, Line chronics, Volkl bridge. which
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-04-08 08:56:45

AR6, Line chronics, Volkl bridge. K2 PE, which is the best all mountain ski? have looked for months! don't think i can get my hands on the "BRIDGE". any ideas?

AR6 the best out there
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-05-12 01:54:26

I've skied Line,K2,Armada,Volkl,Dyna star, and Rossignol. all i can say is there is nothing like the Armada AR6 07-08's. they are literally a go anywhere-do-anything ski. they will not disapoint you in any way..........unless you are worried about the top graphics chipping which is just a look-cool problem it will not affect the ski's performance.

Hey! there lots of fun. Schuback, Gary :Ski specialist

Which Ski?
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-10-23 22:09:21

Im an advanced skier i ski evertyhing from trees, cliffs, moguls, crud, chutes, park, u name it ill do it. Has to decent in the crappy northeast conditions. Only go to colorado/Heavenly Valley once a year so otherwise i ski Vermont and such. Im looking at these, the K2 pe's, Rossingol Blast's, Rossy Scratch's, and willing to try any Volkls or Line Riders. Let me know :)

The end all for which ski.
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-10-27 16:59:45

If you are considering these skis, and spend as much time on trails/backcountry as you do in the park, its a no brainer. These things are amazing. Im a very advanced skier who loves to just huck off anything that looks challenging, and I also love to get back to my racing background and carve around on the groomers. They ski very much like a GS ski, and I was immediately impressed with their ability in the park and pipe. They are a little too wide for moguls if you ask me, but you can deal.

So, if you arent looking to just add a pipe ski to your quiver, or a mogul ski, get these.

AR6 no doubt!
Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-11-16 00:56:09

I Just had a pair of AR5's for three seasons and they absolutely killed it. The only reason i'm getting new ones is cuz 50+ days a year From Vail/Breck/Keystone/Mt High/ and Big bear causes a lot of damage. Armadas are incredibly durable, have a great look and are backed by one of the Leading companies in the industry.
They did everything super legit!--- At vail>
I demo'd the 07-08's and just bought a pair. I killed it in the air! I slid rails like a mother and Launched lovers leap and cliffs in China bowl!
