RACE sc skis are great Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-03 06:28:34
Just had a chance to try out my bran new 2007 race sc skis. These are not the world cup version. They are in fact an RX8 chassis with a different topsheet and paintjob. At first I didnt believe it. (The factory told me this). They are a bit stiffer feeling and definately heavier. But after demoing an RX8 and then skiing this one I agree it is an RX8. Very easy to ski. My version is the 165 centimeter with 13 meter radius. They turn just as easily and aggressively as my 157 centimeter K2 slalom skis in 12 meter turn radius. I ski more relaxed and there is simply more of the fun factor. I highly recommend this. Personanlly I like the paint scheme of the RX8 but then once you start skiing, colors go out the window. |
2006-07 Fischer Race SC Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-12-07 03:45:52
I found a great buy on not one but two pairs of these on EBay- this is the Rec race Fscher cap variant with Railflex II bindings. The last time I skied Fischers was ten years ago on a pair of Revolution Ice. Anyway I skied on these for the first time 12/06/08. I found the Fischer Race SC to be very precise, grippy, and not too demanding (too demanding is an oft heard complaint with the Fischer full bore racers). These maybe lacked a little bit of rebound energy or pop, but lightness and quickness made up for that. Also felt slower than the Atomic GS 9 skis I am replacing but I think thats just a waxing issue. Much lighter than Atomics... I'm happy to do away with the heavy Neox bindings. I would say these are what they are marketed as- Great all rounders for advanced and expert skiers who like to jump in the gates once in a while if they see a course set. |
