Fantastic for the soft stuff

Being a big guy I found that this fat ski had the stiffness lacking in the other fat skis I tried. If you like a ski with lots of kick and its powder and crud you like, then this is the ski for you. However, if you're a corduroy junkie then look elsewhere as skiing the IM88's on hard pack for prolonged periods as it can be hard work carving due to its stiffness and width.

My Favorite Powder Ski

This is the ski I look to on deep powder days here in Utah. I'm 6', 230 lbs ... the ski is heavy enough and wide enough to carry me through the trees and bowls. And, it is super quick in the deep stuff. It also blows through the crud like it isn't there. I've demoed a number of other powder skis and the 88's are the best hands down.

The only issue with them was that the tail can break loose when you're in the crud. This happens if your form is "really" bad and you skid into a turn.

Amazing

This ski has me crazy about skiing again. Let me just say that I raceid untill I was 16(210cm Vokls), but have been snowboarding for the past 12 years. After 1 day of renting I did some research and decided Monster 88's were the sticks for me. I'm 6'3, 225 and ski in AB and BC for the record. By my second day skiing I found myself effortlessly floating through powder in the trees and pounding through crud and big ugly bumps on double blacks. At the same time I've been absolutely bombing down groomers, leaving my buddies in the dust. One of my friends commented how he just could not keep up because I was carrying so much speed through turns. I'm skiing the 186's and simply can't believe how much fun I'm having......pretty much never going to consider going back to snowboarding! I would HIGHLY recommend these to any bigger aggressive skiers. I find that as long as you commit to your turns and get your weight right over them, you will be rewarded every time. Monster 88's ftw
