Don't Be Fooled Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-02-21 05:45:57
These are not only for speed freaks and young athletes. I'm 50 years old and hadn't skied in 15 years, demo-ed a pair of these on Aspen Mountain and could tell after only four turns that these were better than anything I'd tried in previous demos. I bought a pair after that first run. These are good precision carvers at moderate and even slow speeds, maybe because of the tight radius / radical side cut. These were the most expensive skis on the rack, but to me and these ageing bones they were a bargain! If you have any level of advanced / expert skier left in you, but don't want to go break neck fast - try a pair of these, you won't regret it. |
You can say that again!! Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-11-09 14:30:42
The last testimonial was exactly how I would explain them I am 44 and had not ben out for years but when I slapped these on I felt I had not been away for more than a day, I was skiing with an instructor who could not beleive I had not been skiing for so long. I bought them this fall and am looking forward to getting back on the slopes.Control and handling made easy. |
Speedmachine is dream machine Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-11-17 06:19:13
I consider myself a good or very good skier (expert? I don't know, that typically owuld almost mean jumping off of the cliffs and I've never done that...). I'm 47 and I've been skiing since I was 3. Yes, I'm the old school guy to a large extent still but my recent skis are 189 GS Rossis (9X) and they are great on the groomed LONG slopes out West. For most of the winter I've been a Midwest skier though for the last 20+ yrs. I have been carving, or skiing on the edges on my Rossis and couple other pairs but the experience had when I strapped a pair of those Mach 3 Power (2008 model) as a demo is simply unforgettable. Those skis really carve by themselves if you have just some slightest idea what carving is about and how to put them on the edge. It's like having a stering wheel and just doing exactly what you want. I'm getting a pair this year. |
Speedmachine is the real thing Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-12-01 03:17:47
I was a speed freak for about 10 years and still cruise faster than most. Now, it's into good turns with a variety of terrain. This ski does it all. It'll fly when you want to turn it up a notch, and she'll cruise down a good bump run. It's stiff - but it has to be for this performance. Awesome ski. |
Great for young guys...and old? Written by Ski Review Guest on 2007-12-20 03:45:55
I am a 29 year old ski instructor in the east and I have now put down, two of the fastest skiing days of my life on these skis...some of these reviews may have given you the impression that the Speedmachine Moc. 3 power was nice ski for older guys to get back into the sport. Well it maybe nice for that too, but hold on to your hat and buckle up!!! this ski will do it all ....make no mistakes and buy them soon. |
Telepathic carver at any speed! Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-31 15:05:53
I crave a pair of these skis, why? They are so smooth, edge as solid as any ski I've been on. Background: 37 Expert Patroller and Instructor, I can ski, very good.... I first demo'd these board in the 170 at Snowshoe, I typically ski Atomic race skis, had overlooked Nordica's in past years, even at the demo day, until I strapped on the Speedmachine Power 3. It was telepathic how well this ski did what I wanted it to do, at any speed (conditions were East PP/HP, some crud pow). For speed, it seemed the faster the smoother they got (reminscent to the old Dynastar Speed SFs / I have a pair still). Did not ski bumps, but have no douts they could manage there if needed. |
pure carve.... Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-03-24 00:39:39
tried these skis this weekend..had mid 30 days followed by 10's at night...skied boiler plate like a pro..never a lost edge, superb dampening gave no chatter just solid carve. softer afternoon snow allowed cutting perfect paralle canyons with still a solid non slip carve..I was very impressed...I'm 195#, skier 43 of my 45 years here on earth..ski instructor for 17 years...very confident on my feet, now got to save my pennies to buy this ski! great showing Nordica. |
