The second Line ski of the day after a rather exhausting time on the Mothership Titanium (amazing time nonetheless). These have more or less the same characteristics as the elder brother Mothership - less the Titanium layer.

Model: Mothership Flite
Size(cm) / Radius(m): 162/17.5 172/19.5 182/21
Sidecut : 120-90-110 (182 model has 127/97/117)
Length Tested: 172cm

Manufacturer's Description:

“A lighter, more agile version with enhanced freestyle abilities”

Ski-Review's Verdict:

The absence of the Titanium layer makes these a little more forgiving on a lazy day out.  By this time the powder had been sliced up a little, giving patches of exposed hard pack.  First impressions of the Mothership Flite were that they were not arguably different from the Titanium equipped model - just that if you were a little more powder mad and were prepared to make the effort you would get the titanium.

The Flite is lighter and popular among the new school skiers as they have a little more flex so much more ideal for the park.  They also made the experience in the power a little more relaxing, and you did not need to work them as hard.  Edge grip?  I can not say as the powder was too alluring and there was no real need to worry about the grip - however but the rep was quick to say that they were as good as the competition!!

I took them off a few jumps they were amicable in the air - adequate kick off the lip and the drop in weight meant landing was no big deal - plenty of flex in the right place to see you safely on two feet.

Conclusion?

Would have like to test them across the board but where I did take them they performed admirably and should not put of a seasoned freerider with an inkling for the park.

I've had theses skis for two years and there is nothing that I dont like about them. Just dont buy the Reacter bindings because they break easily!
