Every year, Atomic redesigns their top end skis, but not just for the sake of change. This year’s GS12 takes over where last year’s finished, and the new 12 "PB" (That's Powerbridge to me and you - Ed.) has all the performance of a factory race ski, but without the need for constant attention or brute strength input when you “back off” a little and let the ski do what it does best. And big arcs at blistering speed are their strong suit, without disappointing in late day crud that would send most race skis to the lockers.

Atomic GS12 2008

Model: Atomic GS12 (2008)
Size(cm) / Radius(m): 180/19
Sidecut: 111-66-94

Manufacturer's Description of the Atomic PB GS12:

"Race skis for people who race and know how to load a ski. Newly developed World Cup racing ski with Powerbridge technology for the most exacting requirements in the most technically demanding discipline: the giant slalom. Unadulterated pleasure for all highly athletic fans of medium and large radii. Excellent ski control in all phases of a turn, precise turn control, direct transmission of power and perfect edge grip at even high speeds."

Ski-Review's Verdict:

For a good skier, this could be the ideal “All Mountain Expert” big turn carver.

Atomic is famous for high end performance skis, and the new GS12 serves to reinforce their commitment to excellence. Powerful and fast.

This is one talented ski and the pilot better have the lofty skills to control it. That said, any expert would enjoy owning the GS12 as their personal downhill space shuttle.

A friendly feel for a ski with almost unlimited capabilities. More for the groomers, and definitely more for speed. FAST is FUN.

Ski's a ripper...

But pay attention. Like all Atomic race pedigree skis, this one flat out rips, but let your mind wander for one second and you're on a sled headed for the clinic. The ski will make you feel 18 again -- what a rush.

Atomic GS12 - crazy rockstar good

These boards are perhaps the best ski I have ever used. But you need to be on your game and haulin ass. They are pretty unmanagable when your fooling around on the slopes with the wife and kids.

But ice and crud at mach 4 are no problem. I used them in a super G and they were solid. I also used them in a tight slalom and I just couldn't make them turn fast enough.

The skiis made me a better carver.

Good for racers and guys who like to rip big fat GS arcs.
