Chamonix Ox Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-01-04 19:42:49
What a ski! There isn't much it doesn't like. Prefers off the piste but totally at ease on it as well. Likes to be skied hard and fast but its quick response and accurate turns ensure that whatever speed or terrain, this ski will give you bags of confidence and most importantly, loads of fun! Put it high up on the shopping list! |

I am an advanced skier, 15 y.o. 6' 0", 200 lbs., and I was wondering what length I should go for if I get them, as well as any other recommendations. It's a toss-up between these, the Rossi B83's, and the Line Prophet 90's. We get a lot of snow out here(right now it's like 570", and we're still getting more.) Thanks. |

I am a Level III instructor. I love my Mythic Riders. They are excellent in pow and crud and on the steeps, but also have tenacious carving power and stability on the groomers. I've even successfully run GS courses with them. High performance versitility. |
The Shizzle Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-12-08 00:47:02
The Mythics rail turns effortlessly in virtually any kind of snow, and generate some serious pop out of the end of every turn. So much so, that you find yourself happily ripping turn after, and mysteriously finding that you've fallen into some sort of trance. You bop along merrily until you actually accelerate to that point where in your head you find yourself saying..."hmmm, you know, I'm going ridiculously fast...". I just spent my second full day on these skis, both on Vail Mountain, in early season powder, chop, soft bumps, groomers, lower mountain hard pack, and mank. I can honestly say that this ski was phased by none of it. Lean on it and it delivers. It never wavered under foot on anything I encountered. As a matter of fact, I think at one point I swear I heard it scoffing in an almost disrespectful manner, "that's all you got sonny?...". But rather than take it personally, I continued to hammer it through whatever I saw, yet it remained so solid at any speed or in any terrain, that at times I was riding big turns through mid sized bumps and it barely noticed them. I was virtually numb to the terrain underfoot as it slithered smoothly over and through anything in its path. They were so stable and burly, yet still nimble and agile, that a few times during the day I actually giggled like a naughty little child that just changed the air. Only a few more days underfoot may be required, especially when more steep terrain is available, to decide whether they've earned the spot of every day ski in my quiver.

I just bought a pair for $280 in an end of season sale and they are wonderful. As a previous reviewer said, I took them down the back bowls in Vail and giggled as I left my friends way behind. Get yourself a bargain now. |
