Awesome Power. Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-10-23 01:25:40
Demo'd these last year, bought for 08/09 season. Awesome ride, but beware...if you're not on top of this ski at all times, it WILL kick your ass. Another fantastic ski by Elan. Well done! |
What a ski Written by Ski Review Guest on 2008-11-11 02:25:16
I'm a 157 cm tall, 57 kg female and got a 155cm SLX last week. I was absolutely blown away with the power in the turns - very quick edge to edge when you're driving the ski. Just left 2 rail tracks in the snow. Got bucked off once when I got my weight too far back. Best ski I have ever skied - heaps of fun, and not hard work at all. I can't wait to get on them again next weekend. |
NO LIMITS. Written by Ski Review Guest on 2009-02-01 03:41:29
I'm 6'1", 195 lbs., skiing 30+ yrs., and I have a racing background. This is a great ski. Today was day no. 6 on snow with the '09 SLX, 165 cm (I have a nice quiver of skis, so I mix it up). This ski has a HUGE sweet spot, probably due to Waveflex...I don't understand it, but I can feel it, and I think Elan is on to something!!! Conditions today were near perfect, and I pushed this ski really, really hard. Edge grip, stability at speed, and energy transfer were ALL way above average (sorry Nordica/Head, some of my past SL rides). This is a hardcore SL race ski all the way (I only wish I had tools like this when I was still pounding through the gates), but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it handled longer radius turns at speed. Today was quite snowy--I stuck to the groomers, but this ski really plowed through some new/choppy snow. The SLX is a really high tech product, that's very, very FUN to ski (the faster the better). If you've got the skills this ski will NOT disappoint. |
