Ski Review Brands

Salomon Guardian & Atomic Tracker 16

Salomon & Atomic have officially announced details of their much anticipated move into the touring bindings market. The Salomon Guardian 16 and Atomic Tracker 16 are the result of a collaboration between the two Amer Sports brands, hoping to tap into the trend towards alpine skiers “freeing the heel”.

Competing with the Marker Duke to offer an AT binding aiming not to compromise downhill performance for uphill girth, the Guardian 16 and Tracker 16, identical apart from their livery, are billed as a premium backcountry binding, and gains on Marker’s offering by allowing the user to switch between walk and ski modes without releasing the ski from the binding. A low profile chassis reduces stand height.

Not available until the beginning of next season, interested parties may have a wait on their hands to experience a pair.
