Atomic Blackeye Ti 2010

Atomic’s Blackeye Ti is a beefier and quicker version of the Blackeye, with lots of edge grip and versatility. You can actually feel the edges engage progressively throughout the entire turn.

Manufacturer’s Description of the Atomic Blackeye TI:

"A titanium-reinforced all-mountain ski capable of delivering perfect performance on hard, prepared pistes or on virgin powder snow. The secret of its versatility are the torsion flex control sectors, which adapt to the specific characteristics of the terrain."

The Blackeye Ti are solid skis and a great choice for the “everywhere” skier that wants to move to a more stable platform without giving up agility and versatility.

Last year’s was a fun ski, but this year’s turns it up a notch, and the new lighter binding system adds to the snappy feel.

Very responsive and capable in any turn shape and in 1 tester’s opinion: “incredible for a mid-fat ski.”

Sometimes the best characteristics of a new ski are the amount of FUN they deliver. This is one of those skis. They’re relatively easy to ski while delivering great edge grip, directional stability and a light responsive feel.

The Atomic Blackeye Ti is enough ski for the All Mountain big guy, and light and easy enough for the ladies who want a little wider platform to deliver them through the late afternoon crud.

Just took my new Blackeye Ti’s for the first run today and boy am I impressed.  They really seem to have an agressive yet controlable edge that loves to be leaned into.  All day they did whatever I asked of them.  Very predictable for such an agressive edge and they handled well going straight down or carving it up.  I am very happy and they look great too

Been on them twice on Eastern hardpack. Taking out to VT this weekend to test on more conditions. I am 5’8” 160 lbs. and was racking my brain looking for an all mountain ski that was lively, great on edge, super at high speeds, stable, fun and had enough bounce for the occasional short turns. So far this thing is all I wanted! Great great ski very well rounded.

Blackeye’s purchased in Jan of 09…decent value at $900 out the door waxed, sharpened and binding check…which by the way are some of the safest and most innovative bindings on the market..Prob cost $350 to $400 if purchased separately. The skis themselves seem so thin at the tips..but there’s so much strenght in titanium..these skis turn on a dime…from busting out huge gs turns in mild powder…to keepin em tight and hoppin a controled slalom on groomed surfaces..your IN CONTROL always.. Also the best lookin pair of blackeyes to hit the market yet..even cooler than the ‘10’s…i dont like the green… the black and red is so awesome..and from 08 to 09 you gain the TI…and titanium is GOOD…and a little more sophisticated looking with the carbon fiber shell showing through on some of the ski. Best bang for the buck if your looking for a performance ski..and not your 300 or 400 dollar sport mart special….loved atomic so much…got my girl friend the Cloud 8’s so she could be as stylin as me..were a hot pair on the slopes…and not just the skis

I was waiting the Boxing Day to get a decent deal on these skis, but… $339? I felt like I ripped off the store! Before I skied on Fischer RC4 and Dynastar Skicross 9, both excellent skis. Atomic Blackeye is WONDERFUL. Playfull at low speed, excellent on double blacks and in powder, and super stable at high speeds (I just hit 100km/h – thanks GPS technology).

I know Im late on this but I just want to share that…

sportchek sells smu skis, these skis are not what you think you buy. they are specially made for sportchek. Just went there for the blackeye TI, thehave a 699$ sticker on it, sells it for 459$, I’m like ok I’m not leaving without these (wasnt there to buy at all)

Came back at the house, start to look at them. I see they are not the same width as others on the web. I checked with atomic canada, the y tell me:

You do not have the next technologies on your ski:

No xto 12 but xto 10 No protraks No stepdown sidewall technologie No woodcore but fiber core 79mm not 82mm

So I left with a 450$ paid 450$. Its kind of a scam between atomic and sportchek (sport expert and intersport in quebec) Even the guys that sells the skis didn’t know, he had to call his atomic rep to have the confirmation. Atomic says “they should know what they sell” and sportckek says “we didnt know”

Just wanted to share…
