Manufacturer's Description

The titanium-reinforced Savage Ti is the ideal all-mountain ski – a 93 mm waist width provides optimum lift in powder snow, while the Step Down Sidewall Woodcore Ti construction delivers a sporty performance and improves damping. Thanks to the Adaptive Camber construction, the Savage Ti boasts good shovel lift in virgin snow and uncomplicated handling where the skis are flat on the slope. At the same time it delivers the entire effective edge length when set on edge, providing optimum edge grip.

Have demoed these at Whistler and find they perform in just about anything you throw at them, stable at higher speeds on groomers, not sketchy on steep with fresh or cut powder, just tilt them and they grab. Tried the 168 but was wondering if 177 would be better. I am 5’9” about 185 lbs., any comments on manouverability and handeling for the 177 s?

I am not all that different to you physically and I’d never consider anything less than 172 or 173 in an all mountain ski like this. IN a slalom or piste carver maybe I’d dip into the 160’s but with that height and weight combo I don;t think you’d have trouble with the 177 and you’d get the extra stability off the piste that you’d need.

Definitely try them before a purchase though.
