The closest ski around to the legendary K2 EL Comp of years gone by.
This beast will rip in anything, hold an edge on steep ice and float in the deepest snow, it’s heavy though so hold on! Best if your an aggressive skier that loves to ski anywhere at speed, this baby won’t disappear underfoot and at the end of the day you’ll know you’ve being skiing!

I am presently in Niseko & skiing on a pair that I bought, at the end of the Australian season . I am 53 years of age , that has just come back to skiing after a break of 30 odd years (due to blowing my right knee apart when aged 22).
Okay lets preface this report by saying I find the VERY deep powder in the trees here far too hard on my poor old battered knees , so I am confined to groomers, where you still ski on a foot of powder.
These are skis made for what I am doing - ENJOYING my skiing . They seem to relish a rhythm, & once in that rhythm, don`t take a lot to change tempo. They are marketed as an intermediate level skier - my knees don`t allow me to go warp speeds any more, but I still can ski reasonably quickly, albeit on piste.
The skis are FUN & enjoyable, and don`t load up the knees much. They react well to direction changes, go where you want, do what you want (when YOU want them to).
They ARE a fun ski. They are forgiving, & not too demanding. They suit me fine, with enough power in reserve to still give a thrill. LOVE `em.

having lost my X Wing 10s after a disasterous trip to Kitz mid season I picked up the K2 Stryker, and boy are they good, im a heavy guy with a strong technique, they hold an edge better than the X wings and fell more stable, slightly narrower under foot (x wings did great in canada in January pow) so im not sure how they will compare when we return in Feb to the Rockies. good luck.

I’m a fairly accomplished skier and picked up a pair of Strykers at the end of the 06/07 season. They are fantastic! Coming from a pair of 10 year old all-mountain K2 alpines to these was a dramatic improvement. They’re solid beneath my feet in any condition and cut through anything I throw at them with unmatched stability. I’ve never skied on anything else comparable. An all-around great ski!

Bought a pair of these for the new season to replace my ancient Head’s. What a difference! I feel like I’m really gripping the hill with these, and turning is a breeze. Very confidence-inspiring, as they seem to really love digging in hard and getting in a rythym. I’m very pleased! I’m an intermediate-level skiier. My only gripe is that they’re made in China (what isn’t nowadays?) but unlike many other things made in China, they are really quite well-made. K2 must have a good factory over there.

I thought they were great - I am a 53 year old latecomer to skiing and I felt like I knew what I was doing on these - They coped with the icy patches on the groomed trails and I got off-piste and into the moguls.

5.8” 65kgs. I purchased 08 Stryker at 160 after I started to outperform my K2 Omni 3.5 (chatter). In 08/09 I was in the Alps for the whole winter instead of Vermont as usual. Moved from mid level 7 to low 8 thanks to Stryker giving confidence. These are a smooth and forgiving (great PM piste basher) ski, but
also can be driven and edged quite hard. Handled everything (ice, moguls, spring snow, all black runs) at St Anton, Montafon, St Moritz, Saas Fee, Zermatt, various local places etc. but forget powder and off piste (need too much pace to float for my level). I should have bought these when I reached Level 6 - ie, if you ski intermediate runs parallel all the time but skid (about level 5, 6, 7) these will take you through carving (they have easy initiation) and then the point where you need real expert skis. By the end of the season I found their limits on easy cruisers where I could attack. Discontinued so good deals around now and Sidewinder should ski similarly.

Picked these up at end of season last year and did not know what to expect from them. Been out twice now and for the first time I can honestly say that I am very satisifed with my setup. I am 5’10’’ and using the 172 cms. The skiis have some weight to them and hold nicely at high speeds. The load/release aspect of the skiis feels like a mercedes benz clutch! I prefer these skiis over the higher end K2 Apache Recon.
Have not tried them out in icy conditions or in crud yet.
