"A truly lethal tool designed for the park and anywhere else you want to venture. This ski is built with a stiffer Triaxial braided wood core thus giving it strength to withstand the toughest of landings and the confidence and stability to rip any terrain. Equally at home in the park as it is in crud or the steeps, the PE is a menace to society and your mind that will lead you on a man hunt to discover which way is up on its op-art topsheet."

Look if all you want to do is rails, jumps and play in the park they are pimping! But if you want to seriously ski all the mountain these skis suck they are not good everywhere no matter how much K2 try to tell you they are. They are a park ski only they suck on the rest of the mountain the K2 Public Enemy is horrible in the deep pow pow!

With 60 plus days on the mountain last year (mostly Vail) these skis are awesome. I took them in the park, out of bounds, on the groomers…who ever wrote “park only” is a gaper. If you’re looking for one ski that can do a little of everything this is it. It’s not “the best” powder ski…it not “the best” park ski, but for a “do everything” ski, this can be it.

Looking for a new pair of skis for the coming season. I weigh 130 lb and am about 5’7 height. I was wondering if the K2 Public Enemy would be a bit stiff for me to use all mountain and wether the Fujative would suit better.
Any suggestions please post!!!!

I think for your stature the Fujatives would suit you better, that’s if you want a K2 ski.
|
K2 Public Enemy (2007) Written by Ski Review Guest on 10/18 at 01:22 AM
The Fujative is way too soft for pretty much anything unless you ski 100% park all day long and do nothing else. They make a buzzing sound at high speeds on the groomers. WAY SOFT SKI

I am an advanced female skier 130 lbs and 5’6, I wanted an all mountains ski that could handle some whistler powder and as well as everything else. I was told that K2 public enemy would be a good ski for me, I have to choose between 159 and 169, do you think the 159 would be too short for me? Thanks!
|
K2 Public Enemy (2007) Written by Ski Review Guest on 11/13 at 09:34 PM
Being an advanced skier, it’s simply a matter of choice; the shorter 159’s will give you more mobility, and the 169’s will be more stable (at high speeds) and in the pow. I’m 5’ 11’’ and 190, and I use 169’s, and they let me rip into turns pretty damn quick.

The PE’s are a good mix between park and all mountain. It has enough waist to handle some powder, it is stiff enough to hold an edge and be stable, and it can also function as a park ski. However, the Public Enemy is heavy.

A stiffer ski suited for all mountain and park. More stable ski than Fujative and better all around, but still rips in the park. Tip and tail rivets, not that expensive and awesome graphics.

I ski mostly park but do rip around everywhere else sometimes. I have been using 170’s for the past 3 years so I bumped up the size a bit.. are 179’s going to be too long?

The guy in the ski shop said +2 was a safer bet if I was unsure but I decided +3.. PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR OPINION!!!!

I skied on a pair of 164’s (I am 140 lbs, 5’9”) and I have to say that they absolutely rocked on the fresh 1.5 ft of new heavy snow and resulting mini-moguls everywhere. They seemed fantastic going down moguls.
They were a little stiff and choppy on the groomers, wouldn’t want to have these skies if that’s all I was skiing.

I feel like the people who say this is the best twin tip made do not use twin tips for what they are made for. I have seen the Public Enemy mounted way back and they are as heavy as anvils (not good in the air). But yes, they chop it up and have bullet shell rivets, whoopdefreakindoo!

K2 Public Enemy (2007) Written by Ski Review Guest on 02/13 at 03:49 AM
Go with the Volkl Karma. It has better on piste performance. Although the Public Enemy might be a better bang for your buck just because it is so much cheaper and still an awesome ski. Both are good all round skis.

The Public Enemy is super fun. I have my bindings mounted at standard mount, and rip all over the mountain. Powder rules, park is fun, backside stuff rocks. These are so fun! My only beef is that the top-sheet is a piece of crap. Other than that, buy ‘em and ride them everywhere. These are awesome all mountain twins. And they shoot mad rooster tails!

I am an advanced piste skier, but want a pair of twin tips. I want speed, lack of rattling, etc. Park is the least of my worries. Although I plan on attempting park more often, moguls, tree-skiing, and pow are my favorite (15% park, 85% piste). Any suggestions on the ideal twin tip for non-park (I know that’s why they were intended but I think they’re cool). Thanks.

K2 Public Enemy (2007) Written by Ski Review Guest on 02/22 at 12:02 AM
These are good skis but in the air they are HEAVY. Spinning is an effort and any air caught on a mogul is slightly harder to react to cause of the weight. As a general ski though they kick ass. if they got in a fight with any other ski they would win cause they’re so ghetto…except they would get all chipped on the top so maybe not

How bad do the PE’s chip? I’m trying to decide between getting PE’s, Head Monster I.M. 77’s, Rossi Bandit B2s, and Salomon Foil. Any advice would be appreciated.

K2 Public Enemy (2007) Written by Ski Review Guest on 07/18 at 01:42 AM
Bought a pair earlier this year and skied 2 weeks March/April in Colorado. They were great. I was very impressed in all conditions - hard pack, ice, slush, fresh snow, steep, fast, slow, large radius, quick small radius, bumps, through the trees (filming my kids), skiing backwards (filming my kids). I couldn’t fault the ease of turning, edge hold, predictability. Very easy, relaxing ski that just did whatever I wanted without any thought or effort. I didn’t find anything that I and the skiis weren’t comfortable doing. Only downsides were (1) the topsides got damaged really quickly, but you’ll read this everywhere. A real shame. After just two weeks they look worse than any of my old skis that I’ve had for years. But it’s only cosmetic (hopefully) and you wont notice when you’re skiing. And (2) On the steep stuff, with boots clamped tightly together (my style), the upturned heels would occassionally interlock when initiating a turn - waking me up from my dream state. Other than this I couldn’t fault them. No regrets. However, I must point out that I didn’t try lots of skis before buying these. I read all the reviews and checked the deals in the resort. Therefore, although I found the skis were great, I couldn’t comment on whether they are actually better or worse than anything else. Only exception was a pair of Salomon 1080 foils which I did try for a day but was very dissapointed with. Maybe because I’m carrying a few extra pounds, or maybe because the skis hadn’t been freshly tuned they had no edge grip. By comparison the Public Enemies (PE’s) seemed to hold on no matter how fast or hard. Amazing grip when I’m used to skiing on 208cm skis. In my opinion the PE’s and Foil’s are not comparable as the PE’s were just so good and the 1080 Foils were so limp. A shame as I wanted to like the Foils. I’ve been a Salomon user for ages. I’m sure the 1080’s must be good, but I don’t know where they were better than the PE’s. Bottom line: Maybe there is something better out there, but why take a chance when the PE seems so good and versatile ?

these bad boys are awesome. and they pretty much look cooler than most of the otehr twin tips out there on the mountain. they are so easy to handle. only bad thing is when stuid snowboarders loose control and run over ur skis and ruin the topsheet. but thats only cosmetic and doesnt effect ski performance. buy them!!!!!!

These ski’s are awsome, I bought the 159’s which turned out to be too short in the end for the pow but they performed amazingly well in the park and on the piste ! The top sheet however is a mess, i had 3 weeks abroad this year, mainly in France, and about 6 days around Scotland and they are much worse condition than my salomons ski’d for 4 years ! This shouldnt be a a big problem though, They still look great ! And still ride well !

the p.enemy are really good they are quite stiff so they are not bad going fast and going over mogues are ok…...but light so jumps and tricks are easy….had them for a year and they still work a treat and as they are last seasons skis they are cheap….you aint going to find much better.
|
K2 Public Enemy (2007) Written by Ski Review Guest on 08/26 at 03:51 AM
the public enemies are very good combination…i would recommend them to anyone who is wanting to do a few tricks, a bit of piest, a fair amount of off piest and wanting to go quickly without wobbling all over the place…... the pe’s have a good stiff egde so carving is not bad, but as it is weighted around the middle it is good for high speeds…i am 5’11 and weigh around 74kg and i use 175 which is good as there long enough to get good speed and stability but able to turn quite easily, as they are twin tipped the back turns alot easier than normal carvers….i am quite a confident skier who likes alot of speed and the occational air…just because they are twin tipped doesnt mean u have to do tricks and that stuff. it makes it alot easier for slip sliding and just reversing backwards aswell. For the off piest they are ok….not as good as the really large think skis but they are better than any carvers i know. the PE’s are not the lightest of skis so tricks arent as easy as some….but the stiffness pays off. I have been skiing for over 15 years and they are one of the best skis i have had for a long time…these are one of the best alrounders there are, and as the guy above says they are last seasons stock so they are quite cheap. So if your looking for a good alround cheap pair of skis these are the ones to buy. GET THEM WHILE THEY ARE STILL AROUND…..U WONT REGRET IT!

K2 Public Enemy (2007) Written by Ski Review Guest on 10/26 at 03:22 AM
I dont know much about the Dynastars but i would defenitly have to sugest the PE i am from wisconsin so i ride park most of the time they are really good for park. I have also goten them into 2 feet of powder at Snowmass I only way 135 but damn did they float good and that was with the narower 05 model. I have never riden the newer models, the newer model is saposed to be even better than the old one. If they are anything like the 05 model they are ballin as hell
If you get them i would highly sugest a center mount. I had mine mounted back at first and the swing weight is terrible, but they do ski the powder better.

I’m 5’6” and weigh around 155-160. I can’t decide between the 164’s and the 159’s. I’ve had different people tell me to get the 164 and others tell me the 159. much help would be appreciated. thank you

Im 5’10” and i ride the 159 (theyre a little small). I would go with the 164. You don’t want too much ski to turn.
The PE’s are really nice. It took me a while to get used to them b/c for an east coast ski theyre really wide at the mid foot. After that they are great though. I can ride them anywhere on the moutain.

the skis are good on man made snow but the top layer chips like no other and the edges wear down really fast and need to be sharpered but overall is a good ski for just about everything

the first ones i got were the white/black/gold. the top sheet chipped a lot so i sent them back to K2. the gave me the red/black ones with the die cut puzzle piece top sheet…that was worse than the first ones. once they started chipping, one “puzzle piece” would start peeling up while the other stayed. they really started to look like crap and made it look like i didnt know how to ski. i can relate with the tail catching each other and both tips took a beating. i associate this with my style of skiing. boots together, you really have to widen your stance because the tips are wider than the waist. you will get alot of knocking around. other than that i liked them. the size i had (169) was a little short for me (6-2, 225#) but worked well on everything. i have to replace them since i snapped a tip off during a crash 4 weeks ago.

If you say the PE are heavy and hard to spin you suck…if i can 720 a pair of atomic SX11’s (which make the PE’s feel like feathers) then you should be fine with some super like PE’s just use the Tyrola MoJo binding! super light

Skied these at Breck two weeks ago in a 164 (I’m 5’9”, 155) and they really blew my mind… Perfect for everything! With a fresh 8” I was having trouble with my 170 Volkl ACs cuz I do alot of tight treeskiing. They felt really light and floated well, even when I was straightlining the horseshoe bowl in some messy-ass chop. My only gripe is that the edges of the topsheet looked like hell, otherwise I had the most fun everywhere with these. They did everything very well & felt super light- awesome at moguls & pow alike and had great energy- felt like I wanted to catch air off every little bump. If you say these feel heavy, what the hell are you skiing? Goode’s? Generally a very fun ski and great bang for the buck! Does everything you ever wanted a ski to do and some shit you never expected.

Hey- Ive only skiied on these once and i’m more than due for a pair of skis, and i’m wondering if i should get these. I get out west to Vail/Park City for about 2-3 weeks a year, so def ski some pow and some of everything else when there is no powder. I’m 6’2, 190, Im an advanced skiier, don’t hang out in the park much, but i just want a ski that i can use the mountain as my playground, even when there isnt pow do moguls and trees, hit kickers, basically i just want a fun ski that can handle everything. thanks everyone!
