Manufacturer’s Description of the Movement Chaman:

"There was one ski missing in our touring collection. A ski that was freeride oriented with great performance on piste as well in deep and difficult snow. A ski that still loved to climb up hill but didn’t make you pay on the other side. The Chaman is super lively without being unstable. Very light at 1.30 kg per ski it still is surprisingly stable at speeds increase. Arguably the best all-around touring ski you can buy."

I skied this in-bounds (demo) this past weekend.  This ski is extremely light, yet surprisingly stiff.

It’s quick edge to edge and I was able to carve it on hardpack as well as I can any alpine ski.  It was an all around very good ski.

My only minor complaint is that in chopped up powder the ski got tossed around a bit.  It is really light, so while its swing weight is super low it does get pushed around.

I was looking for a 100% backcountry ski and ended up buying the Movement Spark.  It’s a bit heavier, wider, and softer.  I decided I was worried about the Chaman getting pushed around in the backcountry crud that you inevitably ski…

That being said - this is a great ski, and it was a tough call - the light weight alone (for going up hill) is very compelling.
