Nordica Speedmachine Mach 3 XBI (2007) Written by Ski Review Guest on 12/01 at 09:15 AM
I also have this ski, the new 2008 model which is mostly the same.
Whilst I would not go so far as to say this ski is ‘dangerous’, I am alarmed as the EXACT same thing happened to me! The rail under the binding broke on mine after within a few days skiing of each other. Admittedly, being a ski instructor, I had skied this ski more than any other pair I have had (approx 200 days). Nordica replaced the rail free of charge.
I’ve noticed on newer models that the problem area of the rail has been modified so that it now appears stronger.
Despite this defect this is a great all round ski for those wanting to take their skiing to the next level in advance/expert abilities.
