I just returned to Brazil after a week in Vail. Rented my skies and after a night of good snow, changed to the Scott Crusade 169. What a great ski! I’m a intermediate/advanced skier and used it thru crud, icy, off piste, everywhere! And they behave nicely all over the place. I use them for 03 days and am looking to buy a pair…

I am beginning my second season on these skis. I have other skis, but I find myself drifting back to the Scotts as they just do everything so well (yes, even the ice!). I am a large man (260-6/3) that is an aggressive advanced skier. I’m off the scale in so far as length of ski with my weight and height, but the 179cm does it well. They are goofy looking, but that is part of their charm. I mostly ski the hard pack, but have run them through the trees. My opinion is that just about any high end ski should handle the soft stuff on the groomers, but the true test is the ice, everything else is a gimme! The ski will turn and carve w/ a neutral stance, but will reward some forward pressure. Very forgiving ski.

Ski Review:
Great ski! Incredibly responsive. Rips through the crud, floats through the soft stuff, and carves on piste. Sweet ski. Was most impressed on moguls in the crud. They ski skinnier than they are but blow through anything—very responsive and fun. Not for a passive skier…gotta stay on top of them. Surprised I hadn’t heard more about them until I skied them.
