Ski-Review’s verdict:
On the 500m ride down to the lift I knew these preconceived ideas were all wrong. I relaxed knowing me and the Dynastar D-Stinct were going to get along just fine for the next couple of hours!
Turn initiation was so easy and once started the D-Stinct carved accurately cutting clean lines on groomed piste at any speed that I normally achieve, inspiring confidence all the way.
We needed some photos off piste and I though this is where the D-Stinct is going to show some limitations after I had become used to riding skis with much wider profiles in these conditions. Surprisingly, I found them to be easier to handle that the Legends from the same stable, due (I think) to the wider and softer tip.
In conclusion I can say that the Dynastar D-Stinct is a great all round and versatile ski—the short turn radius helped make on piste carving effortless and their forgiving nature will those still developing their carving technique.
Although billed as a mainly on piste ski their off piste capabilities exceed those of many skis I tested this week with an all mountain label.
I really like the understated graphics and would definitely want to own a pair of these.
