Fischer AMC 76 2007 Ski Review

Model: Fischer AMC 76 (2007)
Size(cm) / Radius(m): 164/? 170/16 176/? 182/?
Sidecut: 120-76-106

Manufacturer’s Description of the Fischer AMC 76:

"Like a little more sidecut and the ability to carve quicker turns? Combine this ski’s narrower waist with the wider tip and tail than the AMC 79- and you have yourself a carving-all-mountain-machine (16m/170cm). "The 76 flashes short turns but can still rip long, fast arcs," says Skiing Magazine. With a similar construction as the 79 (albeit one more sheet of titanal for stability and torsional rigidity on groomers), this ski is unstoppable of carving in any condition."

I’ve only run these for 6 days on the New England crud and ice.  But compared to my old boards, (Atomics 9.22’s) they are like rockets on rails.  There is minimal effort in getting these from edge to edge.  These skis have tremendous energy when you load them up. I am a fairly agressive skiier and at @ 200 with pack and gear the 170’s are plenty of fun.  I can hardly wait to get them out West.

I picked up a pair of these cheap (250 bucks, including binding online), and they’ve been simply excellent.  Logged about 40 days on them, including time in New England on Ice, and out west at Park City, and not at Tuckerman’s, and they gobbled up everything, from ice sheets to backcountry to bump runs to powder.  Really excellent all mountain ski.

I’m a highly aggressive skier, 5’8”, 200lbs, and own the 176 length.  The versatility of these boards is simply incredible.  Up there with my favorite tree and bump skis, while retaining the ability to rocket-carve.
