O.k. I currently ride the yellow Vokl G31’s, 198. Probably too much ski since I’m 6’ 180lbs.  But I ski very hard and fast; verticle crud is my true love and although I’ve wished for smaller skis in the trees, at speed there is nothing better.  They are by far the best ski’s I have ever owned.  My understanding is that vokl took a sheet of metal out of their new lines and that there is no equivalent ski available today.  A ski teck guy recommended the M75 Monsters.  Anyone have an opinion on that??  Also am thinking of getting a true powder/fat ski.  Any recommendations?  I ski on the west coast only, Tahoe, Mammoth & Utah. So conditions (except east coast rock ice) generally apply, for all mountain ski.  Hopefully I will be able to afford a second set for those truly stupid powder days.  Thanks.

Agree with the first review, I tried the Monster 75 chip at Mammoth and loved it.  Solid ski, loves speed and really gave me confidence to rip through anything, crud, chop, no problem.  More of medium to long turner, locks into a turn and feels really stable, still came around fine in shorter turns on the steeps though. Maybe it’s the chip working, but it really hugs the snow with a solid feel.  Should work great for where you ski, 2 shops told me this was a very popular ski at Mammoth including one that didn’t even carry the ski.

I bought a pair of these this year and love them. The first few days were hardpack skiing. They rip on the groomers! Very fast and stable GS type ski, however not the best in the bumps. The last few days on these has been on windblown powder. This is where this ski really shines. It tears up the mountain on days like this. It is not phased by anything. Rock solid, super stable, motors through anything. The only drawbacks on this ski are in the bumps and need for more flotatation on super deep days. This is as close as you can come to a truly all mountain ski.

This is the best ski the last 2 years. I have skied many different skis and this ski, in my opinion, blows almost all of them away. I disagree though in bumps- it is great- great short quick turns and super stable. It is a super stable crud buster. Take this ski anywhere, except maybe super deep powder of course.

obviously the 85 is more suitable for the big pow day, but does any body know how it handles compare to the 75 on a bluebird day?

I am looking to buy new skis.  Haven’t bought skis in 15 yrs.  Currently skiing Rossi 7S 198cm.  Heard lot of good reviews on the M 75’s, but am wondering what size I should consider. Any help would be appreciated.

Had 198cm Rossi 7SK as well and traded those in for 177cm IM 75 last year and what a difference. (I’m 6 ft. 185) Agree with the reviews mentioned above that they are a great all around ski. Float through crud/snow and really carves up the corduroy. I am very comfortable with the ski at 177cm and would not have gone shorter. Preferences may vary. Enjoy…make the switch asap.

I’ve used these skis two seasons running now (2005’s model seems to differ little from 2004’s) and will make it a third next winter if i can. The transition from short and sharp springs to long and low carves can be made seamlessly, and as others have said, they push through virtually anything they encounter. If I found any shortfall then it was in the heavy spring moguls that seemed to pest the alps this march, but all in all, a trusty and fun ski with loads of feedback. A note on build quality: the tops of the skis i used this season suffered from quite a lot of the surface material peeling off in messy shards. I noticed no adverse effect on performance but it was slightly disconcerting and might signal a problem for the future…

I’m an advanced skier who skis about 12 days a year. I’d like a great, all-around ski but one that does very well off-piste and also in the bumps. What’s the best carving, but also bump ski?

I’ve skied all types of weather and snow.  Best ski I’ve been on so far.  Highly recommended for skiers on the east coast with all types of conditions and back country skiing.

I skied one season on the M75’s (184cm) and I’d have to say that they’re one of the best all around, all mountain ski that I’ve ever used. Very, very stable, easy to control when making short, very quick turns, or just hauling it on any type of snow condition. Very satisfied…

I have ski patrolled on the M75. As you ate aware we have to go EVERYWHERE. This ski has been SUPER. Love it.

i own the 77’s of these skis… WOW! they are a great all-mountain ski. i currently work in a rental shop in banff and i have tested out many pairs of skis but these are definately my favourite followed closely by the rossi bandit b2’s

I bought this ski cause head is a good brand. and well i love going fast and these skis are like magnets to the snow even when going very fast the skis dont stop hugging the snow. making me comfortable with going fast.

I have used these skis twice a year for five years.The performance is outstanding with speed turns and stability,which inspire confidence in most conditions. I have no intention of changing these skis,they have proved to be the best skis I have had. I ski with people younger than myself, and continue to maintain a rapid pace at the age of 70 thanks to these skis and regular keep fit exercise.
