I purchased this ski shortly before a trip to Steamboat Spring and was well rewarded with 16 inches of fresh powder which this ski ate up. Back on my home turn in Ontario Canada, the ski handles the ice and the hardpack with ease. Finally a ski I can use to go from teaching my class in the morning to high speed freeriding in the afternoon.

Pros: A great ski in any condition. Loves the high speed. Light yet feels solid.

Cons: Despite the wide shovel on it, it does not like you on the front of the ski at all in the deep stuff.

Overall: I am in love.

I bought these skis at the end of last season for 200 Euro.  It was one of the best deals I’ve ever made.  Season 2008 and most of 2009 I rented many types and two that I really liked were the Volkl Tigersharks and the Salomon Daytona 24s.  The Xenon iX8 ski as well as or better than anything else.  Caveat; I skiied Olin 774 195cm for many years and it took me several trips to get used to the carving skis.  I’ve been skiing on and off since ‘78 mostly in Europe.  The Xenons have no chatter on hard pack and ice and cuts thru the soft & slushy snow with authority.  I’m over 50, 5’11”, 170lbs and ski the 170cm.  Haven’t tried them in deep power yet but hopefully will this year.
