I had been skiing with 2002/3 model 2V for couple of years and I demoed this ski today. Both skis exhaust me because you have to put on speed to enjoy it. While 2V was extremely stable and makes you feel it sticks to the snow, which clearly distinguishes it from ordinary skis, this ski is more mediocre even though it certainly is more stable at high speed than non racing skis. Probably it is because 2V has larger turn radius, a longer tail, and it is made of metal while this ski of wood.  I wasn’t impressed. And I honestly think the design of 2002/3 Equipe is much better than this one, which looks like a traffic signal.

I just skied these in Bristol (NY) and found them to be tolerant of skidding when I wanted to as well as willing to go fast on the edges when I wanted to.  The base is not graphite so you aren?t forced to glide fast and work all the time unless you choose to.  More for the technical skier as they don?t require brute force to work them properly.  I really enjoy them.

These skies are really stable at speed with no speed-wobble at all.  They will do various sized turns with a responsive “yes”.  Wonderful skis, highly recommend them.  One point to note.  The factory sidecut is useless.  Go to a 1-2 or 1-3 to fully enjoy.

“The factory sidecut is useless. Go to a 1-2 or 1-3 to fully enjoy.” - You mean edge bevel, sidecut refers to the top down shape ;)

What crap. I’m a ski instructor and bootfiter in Whistler. You need speed to turn the ski?? Sounds like you don’t know how to turn your legs and you just jam on your outside edge by inclining. I use this ski everyday, teaching, bumps , dynamic, knee deep powder- no problem. The factory edge bevel is standard and works just fine if you know how to ski- Jesus!!AWESOME SKI for a skinny one

If you are fortunate enough to ski in Whistler I would agree with the factory bevel.  If you are stuck with ‘eastern snow’ aka ‘ice’, I’d also recommend 1-3 bevel.
