If ski weight is not an issue with you, buy these skis.

If ski weight might be an issue with you, don’t buy these skis.

The skis weigh about 7.5 pounds each.  Doesn’t sound like much but I can tell you that if you are used to older style skis (about 5 pounds each), the extra 2.5 pounds each can make a huge difference.  Specifically two issues.

One.  Ability to turn.  You will need to put more effort into turns.  Not huge issue if exercise isn’t a factor when skiing.  I’d rather enjoy the runs.

Two.  Ability to ride lifts back up to the top of the mountain.  Right under your legs, where your legs rest/dangle on the seat edge, is going to hurt some.  I’m 170 pounds and after three rides back up I was ready to go back to my older set of skis. In fact, I did.

This is going to be an issue with any new parabolic ski which encompasses a proprietary binding system and will increase the overall weight of the skis.  Plus the added binding, which they have predetermined to be best for all.

Otherwise, the ski handled well on the terrain.  Very tight but I would not recommend it for people under about 200 pounds.
