Ski-Review’s verdict:

Having tried out the Snakes earlier in the week, I was eagerly anticipating the first run on the Laser Cross Pro. Just looking down and stepping into the bindings you can nervously tell you’re on a serious ski.

The base of the ski is racing graphite and the edges have diamond edge tuning? I think that means they’re hard as nails and twice as sharp. The ski has 28 laminates of wood and its dimensions are a slightly tuned down Laser GS ski. (3mm wider at the front, 3 in the middle and 8mm at the tail)

This ski did not disappoint! I gave them stacks on all sorts of piste and they didn’t even flinch. “Is that all you’ve got” they seemed to keep saying. The edge grip was superb and they were amazingly, and reassuringly, stable at speed. If you’re not awake these skis will run away with you and you’re car, house, girlfriend etc. The extra width over the Laser GS’s makes them a little more stable for landing after rollers and camel bumps. This is a very serious skier-cross ski!!

Conclusion?

The more you put into these skis the more you get out. Basically the Stockli Laser Cross Pro is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and a very fast wolf at that…highly recommended if you race skier-cross or just like blasting pistes of all kinds.

Oli,

How did you decide to try the 180cm and what have you heard about the other sizes?
