These are nice skis but have several fatal flaws. First, the length is pathetically short for any serious ‘big mountain’ rider. Most guys I know dont go shorter than 190. These come in two sizes, 176 and 186.  I have a pair of the 186’s and they are easily maneuveranble in steep chutes but given the length could use a lot more stiffness. I am 165 about 5’ 11’, I grew up skiing at sqauw, I ski hard and love the steep and deep. So the flex on these also leaves something to be desired, not stiff enough for high speeds. They do well in the steep and deep but get them on the groomers and they fall pathetically short, can you say chatter board. One last flaw, although they do well in deep powder, the ‘textured’ surface of these skis holds even the lightest powder, which means in the heavy cement of say, the sierras, you end up with an inch or more of snow caked to the surface of these sticks, which results in your feet feeling like you have two 20 pound weights attached to your feet. WTF! This in itself is a serious flaw. So, back to the drawing board stockli. Longer, stiffer and for god sakes change the surface of these skis and then maybe you’ll have a winner. Given the steep price of these skis (900 to 1200$), I think stockli has seriously missed the mark. PS., Last years model were far superior.

Could not disagree more with the previous reviewer. These things rip. Took a little getting used to skiing the trees. You wont find the speed limit.. Tear through crud like bulldozier. Not sure how he got the snow to stick to his. They go too fast to hold snow with me driving. I use these paired with the marker dukes and they make a nice backcountry setup. im 200lbs and unless you have the luck of skiing wide open bowls and snow fields daily. 186 is just fine for making those hairpin turns around trees at Mach 2 on a 50 degree slope. and plenty of face shots. Pin the throttle and hang on. These things are super stable too. Every ski season i always wanted a better/bigger/badder ski setup, 3 years into these (I bought one of the 1st sets to hit the market) I lust no more.
