Just demoed a pair of these today and fell in love!

Soft, silky into the turn - very forgiving but also incredibly responsive.

Rewards effort with tons of rebound. Impressive edge to edge. Perfect if you’re looking for somewhere between slalom and GS with a slightly softer feel.

I?ve spent six days on the Stockli Rotor and was lucky to have used it in every condition imaginable except deep powder.  My observations: -The ski does carve beautifully round turns, but prefers only one size arc.  If you try to tighten the arc the ski will skid.  This is in contrast to the Laser SC and Spirit Pro II (which was an expert ski) which carve anything up to a Super-G turn. -The tip is softer than other Stocklis I?ve tried.  You have to wait a moment for the carve to start, but when it does the ski is very predictable. -This ski has edges!  The vertical sidewalls work well on very hard snow as with the other Stocklis. -The Rotor does well with large and small moguls.  The soft tip and semi-turned up tail are probably responsible for this. -The Rotor is a dream in 6? powder and chop (I didn?t have deeper conditions to test).  A lot of tree skiing I did was on powder covered crust?and the Rotor ate it up without flinching. -The 3D graphics are really cool and invite comments from strangers going up the chairlift. -Stockli builds very high quality skis and the Rotor is no exception.  After six days they look nearly brand new.  For some reason the frozen crud I skied on during the morning of day one didn?t even scratch the bottoms.  Impressive!

This is a great ski for a competent skier.  The Rotor really is an all condition ski.  It is not capable of arcing the big GS type turns of a Stormrider, but it will carve true to it?s radius.  The only quirk is that it wants to carve a one-radius turn.

No single ski can do it all, yet the manufacturers attempt to produce an all conditions ski with mid-fats.  I?d prefer a carver and a powder ski, and that is what I keep at home.  I have ski house in a neighboring state and will keep the Rotor there.  It can handle powder, is good through the bumps, can carve trenches in hardpack, and is loads of fun.
