Volkl Attiva Fuego 2010 Ski Review

Volkl’s Attiva Fuego skis look great and ski just as well. Lively skis with a penchant for speed and aggressive carving. Edge-grip is among the best and turn initiation is top notch, while still being easy to control (stay centered, they are Volkls, remember).

Manufacturer’s Description of the Volkl Attiva Fuego:

"Fuego is the Spanish word for fire, and this ski is hot. It shares its shape with the Tigershark 10 Foot, but with a women’s core, lower tip profile, and the Attiva Motion system. For good-skiing women who want the ultimate frontside all-mountain ski."

The 161cm version is plenty of ski so don’t fall into the “longer is faster” trap, as the beauty of the Fuego (other than the cosmetic beauty, they are ladies skis after-all) is their uncanny versatility for all types of turns, and their smooth ride that invites higher speeds without demanding the skills of an Olympic contender.

Think of the Volkl Fuego as one of those “illegal” race skis that meets fun requirements, leaving F.I.S rules to those that let a bureaucracy choose their skis. As long as you can choose your weapon of choice…please buy this ski “shorter” - it’ll increase the full and release your potential.
