Amplid Skis 2011

Written by Dan Morgan, Saturday, 20 March 2010

Lots of good buzz around Amplid both for their snowboards and their skis. With more impressive sounding tech than you can shake a stick at, we’re very keen to get on their new skis, all of which this year are freeride specific models.

Amplid Backcountry Big Mountain 2011

The Infracomb & Teddyrocker are the new kids in the big mountain range. On paper these are very similar skis—the Infracomb is the super lightweight carbon fibre, medium stiffness forgiving powder ski with traditional camber, while the Teddy Rocker has the rocker treatment, and light wood core. The Amplid Cholesterone comes back to play for another season.

Amplid All Mountain Freestyle 2011

The new Amplid Rockwell looks like the all mountain every day contender. Piste friendly sidecut, 96mm underfoot for versatility, rocker profile and a massive surface area for the powder. The only problem is choosing between the 175 or the 182.

Amplid’s C7 is back again, with titanium aluminium alloy and a piste ski radius giving you railed GS arcs and regular camber in a freestyle ski. At 80mm underfoot this has the potential to be incredibly versatile everywhere despite being stiff if you ski it hard.
