Atomic spill the beans on the new 04/05 Metron series.
Written by Dan Morgan, Thursday, 11 March 2004Austrian based Atomic have released specs regarding their 04/05 series. A new offering, Metron, looks sure to steal the limelight!
Atomic have addressed the common complaint of off piste performance on piste skis and vice versa. Ladies and Gentlemen say hello to the Metron range!
The Metron is billed as a ski with the extreme sidecut of a piste carver coupled with the surface area below the feet of a powder ski. Using this theory Atomic has produced a ski which looks set to lower the minimum ‘acceptable’ length in which powder hungry skiers place confidence.
Existing Atomic technologies are used to control twist generated from wide tail and from the looks of it, wide tail.
First impressions are that this is essentially an on piste carver with a over wide tail and tip, much like the Omecarve 10 for example but with a less tapered cut to the middle and a thicker waist. Not too thick to eliminate rapid short radius turns and using Atomics tried and tested innovations to make sure it delivers.
Looking forward to trying a pair of these!
