Elan enhances Fusion with PRO models of race skis

Written by Dan Morgan, Saturday, 27 March 2004

Not content with a fine selection of Slalom and Giant Slalom skis, or with a fine selection of Fusion Models with fully integrated bindings, Elan have created a Hybrid of the two.

Elan Fusion PRO:

Giving their race spec carvers a little more, Fusion technology adds progressive flex and direct power transmission to the Elan Fusion PRO series.

Fixing the heel piece of the binding and allowing the front to move independently when the ski flexes.  The result is a ski which flexes independently underneath the riders feet very similar to the Motion technology co-created with Volkl and Marker.

Coupled with “full power” construction: vertical sidewall, full woodcore sandwich construction, titanium sheets (two on the GX and SX, one on the G and S), and double express technology the Fusion Pro is a technical masterpiece.

Elan has equipped four models with the FUSION Pro technology;

FUSION Pro SX and S for the field
of slalom:

FUSION Pro GX and G for the field of New
Race/Cross/GS:

Summary:

1. Integrated FUSION Pro technology for progressive ski flex.
2. Vertical World Cup sidewall technology for perfect power transmission on to the edge.
3. Double Express technology for maximum torsion rigidity.

About time that they bring the fusion pro to the trainning sl and gs.  They had on the rip stick and I think slx before waveflex tech.

An old article though (2004). The Ripstick probably supersedes this.

Dan Morgan does this ski replace the SLx,SL,GSX and GS which has been in the line for some years.  It also looks like they drop wavetech from the ski

No - this article that announces these skis was from 2004. So anything announced in this article is very very old. It’s 7 years old.
