Glen Plake Joins Elan
Written by Dan Morgan, Thursday, 02 November 2006Iconic American freeskier Glen Plake has signed for Elan, ending a partnership with K2 lasting decades.
Plake will join Slovenian based Elan in a design and development role along with wife Kimberly who also joins to work with the W Studio women’s program.
Glen is understandly happy at the prospect: "I cannot wait to join this young and open team of developers and engineers. It is really exciting for me to be able to work at a ski factory again and to follow the skis from the first designs to the finished product."
The move came shortly after Elan partnered with Dalbello in the US and Canada, the Itialian ski boot maker Plake already has links with.
Glen Plake is a well-known personality within the freeride ski scene, famous for his mohawk hairstyle and hotdog skiing in addition to appearances in the ski movies Maltese Flamingo, Blizzard of Ahhs, License to Thrill, Dr. Strangeglove, Sno What and Natural Born Skier.
