ISPO 2009: Faction Skis 2010

Written by Dan Morgan, Monday, 13 April 2009

The Faction Collective have been around since 2004. We covered Faction some five years ago.

Our resident ski bum Duncan just loves the Faction Wednesday (has owned two pairs) and so we dropped in at the Faction "booth" at ISPO to see what’s new for 2010 (thankfully the Wednesday returns for another season).

Rocker technology features in three of the range this season - the Alias, Royale and Thirteen have all been flipped upside down with individual camber geometry fine tuned for each ski.

The Faction Alias features a subtle Rocker profile creating a ski that floats well off piste and grips on hard snow. The Royale has a more distinctive Rocker shape and flat-camber resulting in a firmer-flexing BC freestyle ski that can turn.

The return of the Heroine and the addition of the Aria skis show an intent to equip women with specific designs, in addition to the Alias, 3.zero and Royale all being available in shorter lengths as cross over models for women.

Our snap of the new range below also features the controversial Thirteen ski bearing the unmistakable likeness of a certain KISS band member…

Left to Right:

Faction Thirteen, Faction Alias, Faction Royale, Faction 3.zero, Faction Wednesday, (missing), Faction Kennedy, Faction Aria.
