Metro Ski & Snowboard Show 2007
Written by Dan Morgan, Monday, 15 October 2007Almost year has passed since I climbed an ice wall, complete with crampons and ice axe in London’s Olympia. This year’s Metro Ski and Snowboard show kicks off on the 24th of October, guaranteeing to whet your appetite for snow related fun this winter. Eight new features have been added, while old favorites return.

Highlights for 2007:
The Trespass Quarter Pipe, playing host to both the London Ride Freeski Event (27th & 28th) and the British Quarter Pipe Championships (26th). Skiers hitting the pipe include Flo Wieser (Völkl), Andy Bennett (Line), Alexis Mouthon (O’Neill), Paddy Graham (Line), making this a definite show highlight.
The Burton Rail Jam, showcasing the best jibbers and new for 2007
The Crystal Ice Climbing Wall offering a towering 8 metre wall of ice. Complete with a smaller children’s wall for the shorter among us.
The "Gigloo" provides the music at this years show. Live acts and DJ’s will be keeping the crowd upbeat long into the evening.
The Land Rover Fashion Show and Brand Arena provides a fashion showcase from the big winter brands, complete with catwalk and ‘prettier than thou’ models.
The Teaching Slope will be a welcome sight for anyone new to the sport, with instructors on hand to give you free lessons and help you get your snow legs just in time for winter.

Prices
Adult tickets cost £10.50 on weekdays and £14.50 for weekend days, however you can save £2 by booking in advance. Concessions for seniors, students and children. Under 11’s free.
