Salomon BBR

Hot on the heels of Salomon uncovering the details of the highly anticipated Rocker 2, they have have thrown another curve ball with the BBR.
Shaped and christened by Bertrand Krafft (who also goes by the name BeBeR) and inspired by surf and waterski shapes, the Salomon BBR is another shot at the All Mountain ski, but it’s fair to say this one is more striking than most.
The ski has large shovels but the BBR is relatively narrow waisted (available in both 79 and 89) and has more than enough sidecut to rip round the groomers.
Essentially, this skis takes the a big tip for float, and uses that reduce the surface area directly under and behind the boot.
Visually it speaks for itself - at first glance it appears a little retro and understated, like an old ski dusted off, heated up and stretched into shape, and it’s nice to see such an innovative product without the usual paint explosion.
It’s bold, it’s intriguing and Salomon’s BBR just might work. Let us know what you think.

Just skied the BBR this weekend and have found the perfect ski to compliment my Rossi CX80’s. The BBR is very smooth, responsive and confident ski in all kinds of terain. This was my 6th ski demo’d and ain’t lookin’ any further. 2 thumbs and a 5h!t eating grin!

Tried these out yesterday, a bit skeptical. They handled wonderfully, and rode smooth. Definitely looking forward to getting a pair for myself!

I just tried these today for the first time - I’m hooked they really are a true hybrid - they carve like a racing ski and glide over powder like an all terrain ..... If you’re putting one pair of skis in your bag ths winter make sure its a pair of BBR’s…...

Ditto. Demo’d these today in the 176. Fun ski, solid smooth ride, great stability and edge hold. Did not have deep pow to try them in. Want to do that next.

I’ve tested my BBR 79,on and off piste..at the powder it works like a 100% free ride skies and on the on you’ve a very a nice carving skies with the a small radios cut..more than I even imagine…It’s perfect.

I tried the BBR this weekend. They sure look weird but they handle beautifully. Carved just as well as my Dynastar Contact 11’s and felt more solid at higher speeds. Super easy to ski hard on gromed packed powder base. Would like to see how they hold up in icier conditions or in powder.. Overall, a fun ski
