Les Diablerets is great for hiking in the summer and a great place to ski in the Winter. The main problem I have with it as a skiing destination though, is that there seems to be limited skiing, and rather than exploring an area of the mountain, you are travelling from Villars to Diablerets or back again. When you reach Diablerets, in order to reach the Glacier 3000 you have to take off skis and get the bus over to the cable car. While the Glacier is open early and late, the cost of a liftpass hardly seems to vary so you end up paying 60 Swiss Frances (CHF) for 3 blue runs when the rest of the resort is not open. The town seems nice, there is a Denner at least and a large parking area. I find it easier to park in Villars and head over to Diablerets - to drive there directly takes a good deal longer. Obviously not a problem if you are on holiday.
