Sidecut; 105 66 96 16m Radius at 170cm
With a bit more taper angle than most GS boards, the Atomic LT11 allows the skier to pick more turn shapes with less effort, and more importantly choose when to release or engage the tails. (Ah yes, the bumps & glades) The 16.5 meter radius delivers solid medium to long radius turns while the softer flex lets them carve even the tighest arcs, and delivers subtle "kick" from the tails, if you or the terrain call for it.
The LT & ST are by design, true stablemates; both are excellent skis, and other companies could learn from their graphics.
Ya, I know—that shouldn’t matter, but there are some "UGLY" skis offered for next year, and the retailers are quick to point that out when they choose what to put on their ski wall.
Bottom line. The Atomic LT11 and the ST11 are both very good skis and for any good skier, either would bring satisfaction and FUN. Personally, I would choose either, over the SX series which will most likely generate several irate comments in the following months, but before you tire from jumping to conclusions, consider that the SX and LT are very similar with the SX series having less taper which can reduce versatility, putting limitations on a ski. Consider that Race Skis, (with less taper angle) are not versatile by design.
Real Racer? buy the GS or SL 11.
Want some fun with reduced stress on those knees? Look to the Atomic’s new blue & silver. Especially if you are less than "Big Boned"
Okay Team, please include your rants below.

What’s the difference between these and GS9s?

I have been skiing SX10s in 170cm. Given that I am 175 lbs and and intermediate/advanced skier would either ( and if so which) be suitable for me in 2006 season?
Thanks

Sorry it took so long but summer has its priority sports as well. Your question did not indicate your intentions with regard to keeping your SX10s. BUT, if you like the “2 ski” idea, I would consider the ST10 in a shorter length and use them as your Carving Toys. (carving tons of quick short radius turns, using the energy stored in the ski to “pop” you into the new turn. Your 170 SX10s would be your cruisers for longer radius and higher speeds. My only concern is that all 3 skis are somewhat similar and if I were keepling the SX10 in a 170cm length, I would be looking for a second ski that is REALLY different. You have a good ski already so maybe you could demo some different products in varied conditions, and base your decision on your personal likes and dislikes. Hope this helps you find your way through the confusion created by the bias Ski publications.

Sorry, The “ST10” mention should read “ST11 in a shorter length” ALSO . . . . . Another thought. Have you considered a Metron? (B5 or 11)

So does anyone have an opinion between the LT11s and the Rossignol Zenith Z9s. The reviews for the Rossie on here seem to be very strong. Am 34, 6’2, 175”. Was thinking of going with the 180 in the Atomic or the 176 in the Rossignol. Any thoughts? Am an expert all around skier, love the trees (bumps not so much anymore thanks to the knees). I do not race at all but want something I can make zippy turns with on the hard packed and take into the crud, chutes, whatever the mountain throws at me.
Comments much appreciated.

I read above that the LT is a less “racey” SX, but more versatile. How does the LT and the SX compare with the Izor 9:7 though?

I am considering new skis this year. I am STILL on my k2 185cm 5500s. I weigh 110#, tried shaped skis when they first came out, and could not get them to go straight. I’m a little of a speed demon; I also have older Saloman women’s skis in about a 180cm and they are too soft. What Atomic would work for me? The 5500s are heavy but I like the damping. Thx.

hey, I demo’d a pair of these atomics, and i felt like i was flying. i love these ski’s. they aren’t holding me back, and they aren’t pushing me forward. i also love the terrain parks, so i do jumps. this model is heavy- especially for me. [female, 13 yrs. 5’3’‘/5’4’’ around 110. i was on 160’s] I LOVE THESE SKIS! the only reason i didn’t buy them at the mountain’s shop, was because they were six hundred bucks, already disocunted 40%. i want to see if i can get them off ebay. GREAT BUY FOR WOMEN ADVANCED/EXPERT SKIERS

What is the difference between the LT11 and GS9? Also, I’m hearing for 2006-7 Atomic is coming out with an LT12. How does the LT12 figure in with the GS9 and LT11?

I am 5’10…240-lb intermediate skiier. Would LT11, ST11 or Volkle 5start be better? I love short & long fast turns and ski blue, black & double black eastern.

Not sure about the LT11, I only tried the new LT12 at the end of the 06 season Snowshoe demo.

After many disappointments on Rossi something or other, Volkl Race Tiger and Blizzard’s I tried these magic skis - I have never had so much edge control.

Last year I skied on short (160) sx11’s which I thought were great. This December, I skied with AJ Kitt, who was on LT11’s. I went home, got my Atomic rep to get some for me, and I’ve been on them all year. More versatile than sx11’s, while having some gs11 qualities. Very fun ski, especially for the eastern skier on hardpack or ice. Thanks again Atomic!
