Manufacturer's Description

For several years, the spectacular evolution of ski-touring has led to the hatching of wider skis. Having always placed importance on skiability, it was only natural that black crows wanted to develop a touring ski with this in mind, suitable for touring fanatics. The fruit of this research is a third generation navis with a freebird chassis. Wide and alpine, but without neglecting the weight constraints required on the way up, this model was designed encompassing a requirement of skiability which is dear to the black crows spirit. With an identical shape to its twin in the freeride range, the navis freebird has the same structural traits as its double: profile single beak and a half, classic camber with an early rise tail and a progressive rocker tip. However its construction has been totally rethought so as to make it lighter due to the Freebird Gene 2 technology: a wooden core covered with three and two directional carbon fibre. “This navis freebird has surprised us by its constancy and performance on the descent, without having an anvil on every foot on the way up. One can truly charge with this navis freebird, and, in all types of snow, even the most hostile. That’s a real surprise!” says Bruno Compagnet.
