Nordica Olympia Speed 2008 Ski Review

Being a little narrower underfoot makes the Olympia Speed a better choice for ladies who spend more time on groomers and Eastern runs, while it’s wider sister the Victory will bring more smiles in softer snow, glades etc. The construction is similar but the dimensions rather than color should influence the skier’s decision.

Manufacturer’s Description of the Nordica Olympia Speed:

"Engineered for freedom at high speeds, the SPEED will give any advanced woman a thrilling ride, passing all the boys on her way."

Ski-Review’s Verdict:

A very desirable blend of agility and proficiency, the new Olympia Speed is for Women who know how to edge their skis, and expect the skis to perform without skidding or washing out. Conversely, if you like to “dump some speed’ once in while by letting the skis skid to slow down, we recommend that you look toward something torsionally softer than the Speed. It’s NOT a skidder.

A nice blend of “cruise or carve” with a very balanced feel. Balance errors or over edging will remind the skier of their errors, but with a forgiving message rather than deliberate retribution, thanks again to the X Balance concept.

The Nordica Olympia Speed is a welcome addition to our ladies ski wall; the new Speed skis as well as it looks. Carving is easy and changing direction happens almost as quickly as you can pick your path down the hill.
